Just wow..
We arrived during happy hour and they were not too busy.
So fresh! The Rajas con queso is highly recommended. They may not be the least expensive but the food is incredible.
We ordered the carnitas which was lean, yet juicy and the mole poblano was a delicious experience.
The restaurant is very clean and the wait staff is attentive.

If you come here, think gourmet Mexican worth the visit. It is not your run-of-the mill Mexican restaurant.

Chilaquiles were flavorful and steak add-on was tender, service was friendly and attentive, and margarita tasted perfectly fresh and balanced. Happy hour is a great deal with house margaritas for only $5. Great meal and value. I will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone!

Black bean tamale was great, but my huevos a la mexicana were so spicy they were almost inedible. All I could taste was serrano peppers instead of the usual delicious blend of flavors.

It was my first time dining here, but not my last. Completely enjoyed my food. I ordered the crab and avocado quesidilla. #Scrumptious Made with 100% real crab meat. #Yummy

I dont think $15 for 3 small enchiladas with chicken and cheese is a good value especially with no sides. Baked in small dish one end was over baked. perhaps other dishes were better. Place was packed on a Friday at 6pm. very loud and lively. Service was good. My friends went early for happy hour ending at 5:30. They enjoyed their Margaritas. They need to rethink the free popcorn, too salty and spicey.

My husband and I stopped in on a whim on a Friday afternoon. We were promptly greeted and seated right away. The floor was busy but not chaotic.

Josh was our server. He was very friendly and proved to be top-tier. He quickly came to our table and checked in regularly throughout our experience. It was our first time dining here, and he was happy to share his recommendations for cocktails and starters.

We started with margs and the Rajas Con Queso. We opted to add in crabmeat, but I’m sure it would’ve been perfectly delicious without. We had Smoked Brisket Birria Tacos (one of the day’s specials) with a side of roasted veggies and an order of Shrimp Tacos. We rounded it all out with a Coffee Flan for the final course. Everything was fresh and flavorful…absolutely delish!

After all was said and done, we had zero complaints…other than we wished we’d dined here sooner. 10/10 recommend!

(Oh, and we loved the go-cups! Who doesn’t love a little lagniappe?)

We loved it! We tried it a few years ago and we were underwhelmed. It’s possible we came on an off night, but we’ve been told by several friends to go try it again. Tonight it was excellent! Carnitas, Poblano Mole, Queso, Salsa, Chips and the corn tortillas were all so good. Also, the happy hour margs were super generous pours. Service was excellent, very prompt and checked in on us regularly. Can’t recommend it enough, especially because great Mexican Food in New Orleans is hard to come by.

We’ve been dining at La Pava real since it opened. It’s a beautiful place, open and bright. It’s very loud and makes it difficult to converse for older folks like us. But that is the only slightly negative aspect.
The food is so good! And creative. Not the usual rice and bean plates. The regular menu is fabulous and so are the specials. Last night we tried the mushroom molotos from the specials. They were incredible. Could have been a whole meal for one.
The fresh fish of the day is always delicious. Steak tacos were seasoned tender strips.
I was thinking this morning that we go there so often and I haven’t reviewed until now. My bad. This place is one of a kind. Service is friendly and efficient.
Love it!

Fish tacos were crispy, dripping and delicious with warm and strong tortillas, chips&salsa(+pico) all seemed in-house, and even the rice & black beans was an affordable and tasty add-on to the tacos! The ‘orange limeade’ was properly sour and probably their marg mix?

I met a friend here for his birthday. He selected the spot, I had not been here before. I am so glad he introduced me to this place. The atmosphere is warm, fun and colorful. The food was really good, an authentic Mexican cuisine. The service was also excellent, both friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back.
