Super friendly staff and food was good. I spent $50 for two people so a little on the expensive side. We went with Indian cuisine and the lamb was very good. The pizza looked interesting and I will try it next time. Tandoori chicken nan was unimpressive and regular nan didn’t have that smoky tandoori oven flavor ,but was still good ,although it was more reminiscent of good pizza dough. I would guess they are using a pizza oven instead of a tandoori oven (I’ll ask and update).

My wife and I are local and have eaten here several times now. We wanted to give their menu a range of tries before writing our review. We have now tried several of our traditionally favorite Indian dishes as well as a couple of their pizza’s. Now we’re ready to leave a review. 🙂 And I must say, it’s been difficult to wait, and after our last visit I just couldn’t wait any longer. The Indian fare is as good as any we have had anywhere, with wonderfully flavorful and beautifully presented vegetarian and meat based dishes. While we do enjoy other local Indian restaurants it is WONDERFUL to have one 2 minutes from our home. Last night I tried the small (12″) veggie pizza and it was outstanding. The chef is very attentive to his tables and the help has been very friendly and prompt. I think we are so lucky to have so many fine eating establishments here in our small neighborhood, and Hilltop is an excellent addition. We will be back again and again.

My son wanted to try Indian food so we drove from S. Tacoma. Pretty drive. We tried the Indian Diner Sampler for $20 and thoroughly enjoyed everything, especially the lamb curry. I usually choose a 3 in heat and did tonight. I would have done better with a 2. Next time I will know. My son usually picks a 5 as he did tonight. He would have done better with a 4. All tasted like you went to someone’s home and experienced the very best home cooking. A lot of care taken with every dish. You get 7 samples in all, just the right amount from soup starter to salad to dessert. Great taste of India to try.

Went here for pizza with a group. The ambiance was exactly what you’d expect for a off-path corner Indian & Pizza joint. The people were quite attentive and very nice, but the food service was very slow, to the point where we almost needed to leave with our kids because we couldn’t wait any longer. The pizza was just a little different from your run-of-the-mill pizza place, as you might expect, but was really good. Won’t return anytime soon because of how long it took, can’t chance it with the kids.
Edit, had to drop a star, didn’t fair too well the next day after eating here. Too bad as it was pretty good.

If you did not know, know this, I am an Indian food snob. My favorite Indian restaurant has been Akbar in Pasadena California for years. That was until Stuart discovered Hill Top Indian Restaurant and Pizza in Browns Point (TACOMA).
Do not let the fact that this restaurant serves Indian food and pizza fool you. It is some of the best Indian food I have ever had. I mean this place is special.
Stuey has been trying to get me here for over a month and I kept thinking to myself really? Indian food and pizza? No I don’t think so. Boy was I wrong. There isn’t a thing left on my plate.
To top it off, The staff are friendly and the chef visited us at our table. The prices are reasonable and everything was fresh, fresh, fresh!!

My husband and I are locals and like to support the local restaurants. I ordered the salmon as I have diet restrictions and it was NOT good at all. BUT WAIT…..keep reading please. After taking a few bites and discussing with my husband how I didn’t like it, due to the hardness of it,. I wasn’t going to say anything because I just felt bad they are starting out, BUT, I didn’t have to because not moments later the chef approached our table and apologized for serving it. He said he was going to make me something else!! He was not pleased with it himself and said his legs still made it over to my table to serve the meal, but his heart felt differently. Those were his words! However-he felt so displeased with it he was honest enough to make it right and insisted on a new meal. He actually made a meal for me NOT on the menu and it was AMAZING, prawns with their spice over onions and peppers. Delicious. He said he takes pride in his food and felt terrible he served it to me. My husbands meal was very good!!! My whole point here is haven’t you ever done something and thought twice about what you did. Did you make it right? My daughter was with us, (her pizza was great) and what a great lesson we were able to discuss with our daughter. I would definitely go back! I suggested he should put on the menu what he made for me! These are the kind of people we need serving our neighborhood. Hope you give them a try! Cheers!

We had an amazing experience here with our two girls! The pizza is the best we’ve had in the area. The Chicken Vindaloo and Paneer in butter sauce were delicious. The Chef, Tej, took my girls to the kitchen and let them make their own pizza and they were beside themselves. My two picky eaters can’t wait to go back! If you’ve been wondering about this place, just try it. They are wonderfully friendly and amazing cooks. We are going to make it a weekly visit, I’m sure.

Excellent food! Especially enjoyed the garlic naan. Probably the best we’ve had in the greater puget sound area. We ordered from the portions were generous. I ate my leftovers for dinner the next evening. Looking forward to eating there again.

Very good. Super fast service. Went in for lunch and had the Chicken Tiki Marsala. It’s a ton of amazing food. Great naan and flavorful rice. Also tried the lamb SeekhKabob really good, not dry but not greasy, the slides weren’t my favorite but that’s just my feelings about turmeric.

Went on a Thursday night. Had a great time- the proprietor was very friendly and helped us navigate their large menu. The food was excellent. This is the kind of restaurant Federal Way needs more of- independents that care about their business. I recommend highly to adventurous diners.
