Daryoush restaurant in Walnut Creek serves great Persian food
About – Daryoush
Reviews
I had tried their food previously at their Berkeley location, and the new Walnut Creek location is a noticeable improvement, especially in terms of ambiance and overall experience. We ordered the Kobideh and Shishlik, both flavorful and well prepared with high-quality ingredients. It’s also worth noting that all of the food is halal.
Overall, it’s a great place for Persian cuisine, especially for the service and environment, and definitely worth visiting again.
One suggestion I will give is, since the restaurant is rated upscale, instead of plastic coated menu, get a nice book style menu which go with the restaurant’s tone.
1 star taken off because of the
Icy rice dessert. We HATED it. I wish I could have sent it back but the guy didn’t come back until the entire thing melted. We each had one bite and didn’t touch it. It was just sweet syrup.!
Other than that, the lamb shank (we got the top one with the eggplant) and the chicken kebab was AMAZING! So juicy and tender! Will order again. (We got the combo plate).
The salad had a couple bad/old leaves but otherwise it was fine. The free flat bread at the beginning was good but I think they should just give 2 pieces per person not an entire stack.
We went right when they opened at 11:30am on a Saturday and there were plenty of seats available.
The only downside was the restroom: there’s only one for a lot of guests. It was clean but didn’t have paper towels. Hopefully they can improve this in the future.
Parking is easy, either on the street or in the affordable lot across from the restaurant.
