I had an absolutely incredible experience at this food truck, a true Uptown treasure! Not only is the food top-notch, but the truck itself is spotlessly clean inside and out, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I tried their jumbo hotdog, which was delicious, but the real star was the burger—bursting with juiciness and packed with flavor that lingers on your palate long after the last bite. This mobile eatery is a hidden gem that deserves a spotlight, and I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone craving a phenomenal meal on wheels! Dyckman & broadway by the subway entrance next to the playground park.

Went back to check on this place after seeing some nice looking dishes on instagram, got a beef chimi and a chicken yaroa.
Chimi was kind of soggy due to too much sauces like ketchup, mayo, so much the beef patty kept slipping out, also was expecting green tomato for the chimi not red, meat tasted burnt.
Yaroa has enough chichen and fries but no cheese, unless that was chee-wiz on it, nothing like the ones portrayed on instagram.
Place was empty, so didnt feel like a rush order.

It is Haute Cuisine expedited from a Foodtruck by the hands of Chef Marcos Toribio (El Pirata) , from the presentation to the packing , simple yet very elaborated, fresh ingredients, great quality , superb service. The Mabí (a tipical Dominican non-alcoholic beverage ) brings you into the forest and rivers of La Ispaniola , home made passion fruit and strawberry juices a delish refreshing drink. I had the Ribeye Stake (exquisito), my daughter had the El Tuerto Hamburguer (is not a burger, it’s a dream) my son had the Sandwich Cubano (unforgetable) , we took chicken quesadilla (a bomb, mexican food with Dominican Flavor) home to my wife, had to come in person a week later to make sure it was from the truck, had it again and also tried the super hotdog on a bríoche (yummy). Congrats Chef Pirata, thanks for what you do. New Yorkers are very fortunate to have you .

First time trying their food, it was amazing. I had a burger, hot dog, and chorizo fries. Granted, I was drinking wine, so maybe it enhanced the flavors.
Second time, I waited until Thursday to order food. I was the first person to order that day. The chorizo fries were meh. The fries were too crispy, and I ended up leaving half of it on a bench for someone homeless to eat.
Third time, I decided to give it another shot. I waited on the line for over 30 minutes behind two groups of people ordering. I had a whole conversation with a friend who passed by and forgot what I was ordering. The guy came by and asked me what I wanted. I forgot the name of it, so after 5 seconds, he got angry and walked away to cook. I thought he was joking, so I brushed it off even though my friend noticed his attitude. I made eye contact with him while he was cooking and told him what I wanted.
A woman went in front of me to pay, and I told him my order again, which was the “choripapa.” He responded rudely, saying, “Estoy bregando con cuarto ahora.” This means he’s dealing with money right now. So, I asked him if he heard me. He rudely responded, “No estoy en ti ahora.” This basically means he’s not focused on me.
Mind you, I was there standing telling my friend he should try their food after all of this happened. I don’t know where he got this attitude from. I didn’t have a bad experience with him before. He just randomly came with attitude. I made it easy by responding to him in Spanish.
I just took my money elsewhere. I didn’t respond or argue. I just walked off….
If you’re tipsy or drunk and don’t mind waiting a long time for food and you’re close by, it’s a decent option for Dominican fusion food, otherwise it’s not worth the walk or wait.

Amazing food! From the chimi, to the parrillada, yaroa and even the salchipapa was absolutely amazing. Wait time was less than 10 minutes for the first half of our big order to come out. The flavor is unique, I’ve never had a chimi like this. Will definitely visit again. 11/10!!
