We came because it was on the Inquirer’s 76 and it didn’t disappoint. The tamales oaxaquenos were superb and the banana leaf imparted a unique flavor to the masa. I had the mixed platter and it was a great way to try a large part of the menu. This restaurant clearly specializes in corn based dishes and even simple tacos were really elevated by the quality of their masa and masa prep.
Awesome atmosphere, slightly vintage decor and kind, attentive servers.
And the $6 margarita is pretty damn good!
Came with family who live across the river in Bridgeport and we’re excited to come back, so it’s well worth a stop if you’re in Norristown!

Absolutely Impressed! Taqueria La Michoacana is a hidden gem in Norristown, PA. Authentic Mexican cuisine with amazing flavor, not the watered- down version that you might find at other spots. Every dish was fresh and well-seasoned. Omg the shrimp ceviche Perfect texture! Great drink selection too. Excellent spot for happy hour. Service was friendly, efficient, & very welcoming. Can’t wait to return.

I am a bit behind on posts … sorry about that … on Friday evening my Bestie Tara and I decided on trying one of the dozens of Mexican Restaurants in Norristown PA … we selected Taqueria La Michoacana … it was a traditional At most which was lovely … the wait staff were very attentive and did not communicate well in English … that’s okay because we do not communicate well in Spanish … time to learn … I ordered Beef Tostadas while Tara had Burritos in a Green Sauce with Refried Beans … I am not a Mexican Food expert by any stretch of the imagination … what I can say with 100% certainty is that the Tostadas I had were delicious … so very tasty … Tara loved her meal too … I don’t have a photo of the Flan I took home with me … it was fabulous … I definitely recommend this restaurant and give it 5 stars … LIVE LOVE LAUGH & THRIVE …

One of the most delicious and authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. Great for eating in or take out. The inside is colorful and welcoming, always great service. Every single thing on the menu is consistently delicious but our favorite is the Tampiquenas. Michoacana is only choice in our house when we’re in the mood for Mexican and anytime we’re celebrating. ❤️

I’ve been here a handful of times many years ago and always raved about it. I finally got to take my husband because we were in town. I really talked it up. Food came out in probably 10 minutes (we were there for lunch and it wasn’t busy) the food was room temperature. Nothing was warm. I am so confused how it came out so quick but it had no heat. Felt uncomfortable sending back the 3 entrees we got. From what I did taste it was complete lack of flavor and didn’t seem fresh. My husband had 2 bites and said absolutely not. Our server was very nice and friendly but I know what can happen in kitchens if you send something back. And definitely not all 3. Im sad to say we will not be back. The only fresh thing was the guacamole. Waste of $60
