Our youngest asked for conveyor belt sushi for his birthday meal so we drove 50 miles and crossed an international border to come to Kuru Kuru Sushi. Good variety of options and there was something for everyone. We all left full and had a good time.

EDIT November 2025: Since the ownership change, I can no longer recommend or enjoy this restaurant. The food sits for way too long on the belt, the fresh fish has gone down in quality, everything is blander and tougher, and it makes for an altogether middling experience. I miss what Kuru Kuru used to be.
OUTDATED: My partner and I have been coming to eat here for a couple months, and it is now our go-to restaurant for anything from special occasions to a spontaneous middle-of the week date night! Kuru Kuru has hands-down the best sushi I’ve ever had, some of the nicest people, and is overall a wonderful time every time we’ve been there. We used to get sushi at Jun’s downtown, or Zen Sushi up by the theater if we wanted someplace with a belt. The food at Kuru Kuru has blown both out of the water, the atmosphere is lovely, and it is less expensive! I truly cannot express how happy I am with every aspect of this restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food in Bellingham!

Kuru Kuru sushi has an inviting environment with cozy seating. It was fairly busy when we arrived, however they were prompt about finding us seating. The sushi was very good and the plates had good portion sizes. The servers were very attentive, and I was able to order from the menu as well as grabbing dishes from the track. I will definitely be visiting again!

One of my favorite sushi places, I highly recommend baked scallop. We bring our kids here and they get so excited! The staff is amazing the service is beyond exceptional! As well as we ate a lot of sushi with our family and the price was crazy low. Love love love this sushi place!

I love this place, they have great food and I’ve been coming for years. Unfortunately this is the second time I’ve been double charged and had to contact my bank to try and resolve the issue. I’m not sure if it’s a computer error or server error but either way it’s been a hassle both times to try and get my money back from the second transaction.

Do you know that this is my most favorite sushi place anywhere?!?! Hawaiian rolls, spicy California rolls, ichiro rolls, and tuna rolls are out of this world!!! Get there when they open for best opportunity to not wait for a table. This place is busy!! This is not a lingering restaurant, be courteous and conscious of the other patrons waiting to eat.

What I consumed from the sushi conveyor was good. I enjoyed what I had, however the menu was beyond less than inspiring. It was just another sushi joint but seemed to cater to more of a western palate, and overall was just generic rolls and way too many rolls with farmed Atlantic salmon, which is didgusting if you know how that industry works. The place didn’t have a bar, but good sake. It just wasn’t anything special, wasn’t bad food, just generic. Won’t be back

Great Sushi and timely service. My daughter is 8 and we’ve made it our routine mom and daughter date place since she was 4. Lots of variety and plenty of dessert options. If you’re new to Sushi, this is a great place to start.

Not a great place if you’re dining alone. The food was great the first time I went but this evening, a Monday evening, I just waited 20 minutes and had people seated in front of me because I’m a single diner. I walked out after 20 minutes because that’s no way to treat a person who comes alone to eat.
