The Old Guys Pub Crawl made our first visit to The Barn Door Grill and Bar. We had two visitors who recognized us from our review photos. We appreciate the round of beer that they provided us. There was not a strong bar or pub feeling here but they had a bar and served beer so The Barn Door qualifies for our crawl as somewhere around the 106th unique Lexington area place we have crawled since August 2023. Our next location is a return to a favorite. The food was good and the people friendly. We loved this place.

Great place to have lunch. Honestly wasn’t what I expected, but the food was amazing! Everything was made to order and the staff was friendly and welcoming. A manager of some sort came out towards the end of our meal to thank us for eating there and make sure our food was up to standard. I would eat here again for the steak sandwich and service! The specialty sodas were great too!

We went here for burger week. It was our first time trying this restaurant. The service was exceptional. The staff was extremely polite and genuine. As soon as someone would leave, the table would be cleaned. The food was good. My husband loved the fries but they were a bit salty for my taste so personal preference. We did both agree that the burger was a bit dry. It would have been better if it was served medium.

Truly farm to table. The restaurant is located inside a stockyard surrounded by cattle. The food was great and the portions were large. Great spot for a casual breakfast with the kids. The service was ok and there are no real options on coffee. The biscuit was fantastic.

This bar and grill is in the Bluegrass Stockyards retail space near the Kentucky Horse Park. I ordered a cheeseburger to go. It was a reasonably priced half pound of meat with choice of cheese and toppings, adding like an egg was a little extra. The meat itself was as fresh as possible – I would be surprised if it is not straight from the stockyard. The patty was dense, lean with very little fat. It reminded me of burgers from cafes in small cattle towns in Texas, the kind that hard working cowboys and cowgirls want. If you want a taste of a fantastic rural Texas burgers this is the place. But temper your expectations, there is a difference in texture and taste between fat marbled wagyu beef and fresh, lean, highest quality farm/ranch burgers. And understand that this is primarily intended to provide breakfast / lunch for cattle buyers and sellers and workers, just like the track kitchen at Keeneland.

The eatery is primarily open for breakfast and lunch. We ate lunch there and it was a great choice.
The food was really good and prepared well. The chicken tenders were the best that we’ve ever had (they weren’t dry or overcooked). The hamburger was also quite large.
The prices were very reasonable considering the portion sizes and taste of the food. The staff was also friendly.
We will definitely go back for lunch, but we’d also like to try their breakfast. Our only wish is that they were open for dinner too!

Good quality food, laid back place to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We hear the carrot cake is amazing but were too stuffed to give it a go. Do not expect fancy here. Almost cafeteria style, but really clean and quaint.

Great experience, food was delicious and served up hot and fresh and QUICK! Burger was cooked right and very pleasant employees. Went to watch the cattle auction as we are horse people and saw good horsemanship moving cattle and enjoyed checking out the largest farrier shop and other shops in a brand new building. Highly recommend this stop!
