still in Milwaukee and this time we are trying something new. I saw saw this place online (for a photoshoot) and I went to the address for the location. at first I thought it was was in a wrong place but when I walked in and asked, I was directed to the (Fox Den)
everyone was nice from host to cooks to cashier. patient and elaborate about what comes on the items.
lets start with their fries, one would say, its just fries, ( they are not recreating the wheel) but these were one of the crispiest and whatever seasonings they use with it automatically elevated it to a different level, and with their dipping sauces (Bang sauce) which is indeed Banging and (Chili garlic aioli) its a different story.
moving to the Curds which were from another world with the Jalapeño Scranch dip were a match like no other.
But the real standout was the Bollywood sandwich. You won’t find this anywhere else, and for good reason. It’s got two smashed chicken patties, serrano raita, pudina chutney, curry-caramelized onions, cilantro, and shredded cabbage. Sounds like a lot—and it is—but somehow it all works. You take a bite expecting just another chicken sandwich, and then… your brain kind of pauses. Like, Wait, what was that? The flavors are bold but balanced, the textures play off each other perfectly, and yeah—it actually tastes like its name suggests: vibrant, layered, and a little unexpected. Foxy indeed.
finally I had to try their Bang!Burger. (Sometimes less is really more) this burger had meat, cheese, Bang sauce, pickles and minced onions. but all ingredient had a role in this burger, the beef patties were rolled and smashed perfectly creating that crispiness in them the bang sauce worked will with the pickles and onion plus the cheese was creamy and just blended in to make a juicy with every bite.
I would most definitely stop by next time I am in Milwaukee and I am sure I would be trying something new next time. Those were suggested by the staff and I am glad they did.

ordered 2 of the buffalo chicken sandwiches togo and once arriving home we found they were soaking in their in house buffalo which was mostly super thin and oily (kinda musky??) and the chicken patties were so overseasoned they were salty and strong but almost in a dorito way?? we weren’t able to enjoy or finish our food which was very disappointing as it was on the more expensive side and we’d had a decent experience here in the past

Never had a smash chicken pattie before and while it was interesting to try I’d probably stick to beef haha but! This is still a great spot to stop especially if you want a nice drink from the distillery they share space with.

The burgers are gigantic and delicious. My boyfriend and I agreed that they were the best we’ve ever had. I had the Chimi Hendrix and there were so many different flavors and they meshed perfectly together. The fries were lightly seasoned and I dipped them in the chili garlic aioli. Amazing! He had the Stack Lethal and it was delicious. Because his had less toppings than mine, you could really taste the flavor of the burger itself and it was perfect. This will be a regular spot for us from now on!

Taste like Dirt. Only ate half bc I was starving. No sauce on it at all I had the beet box. Taste like a
Fries fried in meat grease. Will never go back.
*******Edit*******
I went last night, there was no phone number to call. I asked the person who was by themself about the grease and he said you use the same frier. He said it’s not seperate oils, you people will fry fries in the same oil you use for chicken minutes before.
You’re not the only place that does this. That why we real vegans don’t like going to places that have meat/dairy to begin with. The sandwich was slop prepared in five minutes. It had
some type of barely creamy hummus looking sauce then cucumbers some leaves, and some beans falling apart with beets that tasted like actual dirt. Your food sucks presentation wise and taste.
Instead of accusing the customer of telling stories, maybe you should check your overworked night worker!

Burger was excellent (it is a smash burger & is huge) and the fries are great as well . It is inside Great Lakes Distillery so you can also get a good cocktail. Definitely will be back.
Also pictured is a chicken sandwich that was fantastic as well.

My wife and I decided to try fox den yesterday. We ran into some of the same issues that others have vis menu substitutions; my wife wished to swap cheeses, and also to add ketchup to her order and was denied. I ordered the umami bomb, and while I didn’t have any substitution related issues, my burger just wasn’t very good; the patties were well-charred, however it was a bit greasier than I’d have preferred, the arugula that topped it was sad and soaked in grease, and it was just generally bland, and lacking in flavor, umami or otherwise. I’ve had worse burgers, but I’ve never paid so much for a burger that I liked less; I would say that the value for money here was low.
My wife got the plain Jane burger which was very plain, and which, in its description on the menu had a quip about coming with “sadness and regert”. I suppose we should’ve seen that and considered ourselves forewarned, as that pretty accurately describes our experience there.
Cheese curds were pretty good, though.

I was downtown for a meeting today and wanted to try a smash burger that has been on my list a while. This is my perfect opportunity to try Fox Den inside Great Lakes distillery. I had the bang burger and onion rings. Sides are extra for $4 and don’t even include a dipping sauce that would be $1 extra which is ridiculous, as their prices are a bit higher than other smash burger places in town. If you are buying a side instead of having it come with an entree, you should get a sauce to go with the side. The onion rings are big and tasted good but needs a sauce . As far as the burger goes, it is a large size burger and lots of sauce on the patty. I think overall it was a decent burger, but I also think Archie’s is still better and cheaper. I do like trying new places though. Give them a go. I spent $20 for this. I would rate them 7/10. I think the system of ordering at the counter reminds me of a food truck, maybe have your servers wait on people or bring them their food instead of getting it at a counter especially for the prices. Put some more quality in your service and it might be worth a second visit.

Not very busy but we had a great smash burger. The sauce had some lift to it which I enjoyed. The fries were hot and also had some good seasoning. Not sure why the Sprecher was served at room temperature. Over all very good. Bartender seemed distracted but gave us a warm thank you upon leaving.
