Super delicious Nicaraguan food. I’ve actually never had Nicaraguan food and I don’t even think I’ve even heard of such a category but obviously that exists and it’s here. It’s delicious. I think the prices are pretty good here. It’s away from the main drag so it’s a lot less busy than anything else to the west. I got a beer for like six bucks. It was a Nicaraguan beer. I also got a big old chunk of skirt steak and it was delicious. They serve you these little side things so I put some chimichurri on it and yeah, it comes with rice and beans. It was super delicious. Also at the table with a whole fried snapper fish, they have some kind of soup we got, that was delicious. I’m told that was delicious. Chips and salsa was kind of mid, not gonna lie. But yeah, I don’t think you can go wrong with this joint. It’s just like super delicious food. Lots of MEAT.

This has to be the best food I’ve tried in Key West thus far. The staff was friendly and they had good music playing. The dinning area looked clean and they serve a lot of food and it taste amazing. There lunch specials are a really good deal.

This place is located in a strip mall. Do not let that deter you. Our food was fantastic; homemade and authentic. Our server was perfectly friendly and helpful. I wish I lived here so I could go back over and over.

A true hidden gem with heart, flavor, and authenticity.

Jose’s Latin Food is one of those places you’re genuinely glad you stumbled upon. Tucked away in an unassuming location, it delivers an experience that goes far beyond expectations. We dined in between lunch and dinner and were seated immediately, which set the tone for a relaxed and welcoming visit.
The service was outstanding from the start—friendly, kind, and attentive without feeling rushed. Our server even took the time to share a bit of their personal story from Venezuela, which added a meaningful, human touch that’s becoming rare these days.
We started with the repochetas, which were fresh, crispy, and full of flavor—an excellent appetizer. For the main course, the churrasco with chimichurri was the clear standout: perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with authentic flavor. Paired with the maduros and gallo pinto, the entire plate felt thoughtfully prepared and deeply satisfying.
The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, with colorful décor that reflects the culture behind the food. A Bible verse included in the mural was a subtle but beautiful touch that added warmth and character to the space.
This truly feels like a family-owned restaurant that cares about its food, its people, and its guests. If you’re looking for authentic Latin food made with care, Jose’s Latin Food is absolutely worth the visit. We’ll definitely be back.

To start off… The location is easy to find. Once there, my server, candi was awesome. As soon as I came in, she locked eyes and sat me down, brought me the menu and I knew this was a great choice. Wanted soup, so she recommended the oxtail soup and then I asked for “Tajadas con queso”, which is fried plantain with fried cheese and cabbage salad.

Note: I took the “tajadas con queso” to go. Their portions are generous here!

The food was amazing, service 100%! Thank you! I will visit again!

This little dive off of Truman hit the spot for me this past Wednesday afternoon.
The Fish Tacos and the salsa were refreshing and hot and just enough, in other words excellent. Get the corn Tortilla, you wont regret it.
I was not necessarily in a hurry but, this place is a reminder that life down in the Keys is a little slower and while the service was not terribly quick or attentive, the food was worth the wait. This is a great place to go for a quick bit reasonable prices and very nice folks. I will certainly be back.

Definitely authentic. Everything was tasty. Large portions to go along with the higher prices, but there was plenty for leftovers. They also have horchata too!
