Excellent, hearty, REAL Greek food!. Easily accessible, located on R1 South. A Beautiful, cozy, charmingly decorated dinning room. Simple yet varied menu. Their FETA PSITI is poetry on a plate!, a sweet, savory, spicy combination wrapped in the crunchiest phyllo pastry ever. Their ARNI KOKKINISTO is lamb shank simmered in tomatos. Genius! The tenderness of the lamb is unreal! it falls of the bone and simply melts in your mouth, we tried it with rosted lemon potatos (buttery and delicious) and rice pilaf (fluffy yet firm, flavorful!). The YOUVETSI is another Lamb spot-on. Lamb shank perfectly cooked, tender and juicy laying in a bed of smooth, firm and chewy Orzo with rich, fresh tomato flavor, simply succulent. VERY reasonable prices, BIG portions, EXCELLENT service and above all tasty, tasty, tasty! Definitely a MUST GO PLACE in Peabody!!

Found this place by accident and we’re happy with the outcome! The restaurant is conveniently located, very clean with good service. We were greeted and taken care of throughout our stay. The food was very good and we really enjoyed although it seemed a bit pricey especially the appetizers. In any case, we had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.

Overall not a great experience. The food was ok. Room for some improvements. Worst part would be my friend found hair in the food. One in the salad and another in the rice. Looking at the woman in the kitchen it was obvious, she needs to put a hairnet on or continue to lose customers. Unfortunately these things happen but they are preventable and at zero cost to the business to provide. Our waitress was very nice, understanding, and accommodating, both with the check and complimentary dessert. Still not enough though to make me want to go back any time soon if at all.

this place deserves more than 5 stars. my fiancé is Greek and he saw this restaurant on Phantom Gourmet, so we had to check it out. the owner is a sweetheart. the service was wonderful. the atmosphere was straight out of a classic Greek community with a twist of upscale modern. the food exceeded my expectations. highly recommend the Moussaka. will 100% be coming here again!

Always great food when we go – we usually get octopus, lemon potatoes, lamb, and some sides and they’re always fantastic. Ambiance is great but there is a martial arts dojo next door and sometimes when they’re doing punching bag drills the floor in the restaurant literally shakes if you’re sitting on that side of the restaurant. This makes it more a 4.5 star review, but it’s a minor point and isn’t a constant thing. If you’re sitting on the other side the ambiance and atmosphere are excellent.

This was our first time at Kouzina. The food was good. However there is not enough pita bread for all the dips and there is a charge for extra bread. The spanakopita was excellent. My French fries were cold but the male server was kind and made new fries. Unfortunately we had an inattentive server. She did not introduce herself and acted dis interested in serving. She did not check on us after delivering the meals and did not keep the water glasses filled. After dinner she brought the dessert menu and placed it on the dirty table. My daughter cleaned the table with a napkin prior to dessert. When dessert came the server cleared the plate quickly and brought the check. She immediately realized she did not include dessert and quickly recalculated the bill. It was as if she couldn’t wait to get finished. We dine often at Greek restaurants in Boston and they always greet us with warmth and we love the vitality. Unfortunately we did not have the same experience here.

The best Greek restaurant I’ve tried in Massachusetts. Every dish we got was excellent. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy. The staff is helpful and kind. Definitely coming back again and next time will save some space for baklava 🙂

Restaurant Review: Kouzina Greek Restaurant 134 Newbury St, Peabody, MA 01960
Kouzina is a family-owned Greek restaurant on Route 1 that serves food made with love and top-notch ingredients. They even import their olive oil directly from Greece, which adds an authentic touch to every dish. I got a behind-the-scenes look at how some items are made, and it’s clear that quality is their priority. Here’s my breakdown of the menu:
Appetizers Spanakopita Crispy phyllo pastry filled with spinach, herbs, and feta. The portion size was huge—like a slice of pizza! A must-try for anyone who loves Greek classics. 9/10
Kolokithakia (Fried Zucchini Chips) Thinly sliced zucchini chips served with homemade tzatziki sauce. The flavor was fantastic, but I wish they were slightly crispier. 9/10
Greek Fries Freshly cut fries topped with aged feta and oregano. You can’t go wrong with fries and cheese—absolutely perfect. 10/10
Oktapodi (Grilled Octopus) Tender grilled octopus served with creamy fava. It was delicious but slightly fatty. If you enjoy octopus, this dish will impress you. 9/10
Saganaki (Flamed Kefalotyri Cheese) A showstopper! This Greek cheese is flamed with ouzo right at your table. The gooey texture and tangy flavor were amazing. My boyfriend even mistook it for bread when I reheated it at home. A must-order. 10/10
Horiatiki (Village Salad) A traditional salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers, barrel-aged feta, and kalamata olives, tossed in olive oil and oregano. Fresh, shareable, and flavorful. 9/10
Entrees Pork Gyro A classic gyro packed with pork, tomato, onion, fries, and tzatziki in a soft pita. They didn’t skimp on the tzatziki, which I really appreciated. Absolutely delicious. 10/10
Deluxe Souvlaki Skewers Chicken and pork skewers cooked to juicy perfection. The meat was tender, but I wanted more dipping sauce to pair with it. 9/10
Dessert Galaktobouriko A creamy semolina custard wrapped in flaky pastry and drenched in honey syrup, topped with a cherry sauce. A refreshing alternative to baklava and an absolute must-try. 9/10
Final Thoughts Kouzina is a cozy gem for Greek food lovers. Their dishes are authentic, flavorful, and made with care. During the holiday season, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, adding to the charm.
Food: 9/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Affordability: 7/10 (Gyros are a great deal at $13, but some other items are slightly pricier.)
If you’re craving authentic Greek flavors in a welcoming atmosphere, Kouzina is the perfect spot. Whether you’re there for a fiery saganaki or a classic gyro, you won’t be disappointed!

An incredible find! We randomly went there being from out of town, and am so glad we did. The staff were so friendly, the place was beautiful and decorated for the holidays in a very elegant and tasteful manner. The food.. knocked me off my seat. So freaking good. The protein bowl with the pork was just divine. Wish there was one in my state!
