We went to Rome for a rugby match and my husband found this hidden gem, the food was delicious, a very special experience where they made us feel pampered. We had the seven course taster menu, it was well worth it as we got to try a little bit of everything.
If you’re in Rome I highly recommend you treat yourself to an amazing experience

An exceptional experience. I went alone and the focus on the food made it even stronger. Every dish was precise, clear, and deeply satisfying, with a level of control that is hard to forget. The progression of the meal felt natural and perfectly paced. Nothing distracted from what was on the plate. It was one of those meals that stays with you long after it’s over. Easily my favorite restaurant in Rome. Truly mind blowing

Food was mostly delicious except for a few outlayers (cold pasta dish did not work for us, as well as the lobster dish which was messy but interesting). The desserts were tasty but very trivial which is unexpected frim a place like this and arevthe main reason for the 45 stars. Wine pairing was mostly very good though to me the rosé wine did not compliment the dishes and was generally not a memorable wine.
Service was perfect and kind, atmosphere was modern, pleasant and clean.

Had an amazing experience! The pork chop main dish is to die for! Incredible staff, and for a Michelin star restaurant they are pretty chill, and we had two little kids age 4 and 6, and they catered to them really well too, and even gave my daughter her own gelato out of our adults tasting menu (son fell asleep, lol). Definitely recommend!

Zia was definitely an experience, and the waiting staff put on a song and dance choreography of plates that anyone would appreciate. The service is exquisite and its of credit to them how well they pull it off in being polite, attentive, and exceptional at what they do.

What lets the restaurant down sadly is its food and ambiance, and I would expect more from a Michelin star establishment.
Ambiance : too sterile, everyone is afraid to make a single sound, the music is very low, it makes the whole vibe slightly unwelcoming.
Food : We tried the 7 course menu, and most of the food was nice. Not great, not mind blowing, it was nice. Some dishes like the Pigeon very clearly missed the mark and were not good at all. Others tasted really nice, but had me feeling mixed emotions about if the price tag is worthy of the quality. Sadly, I’d say the seven course menu was not. I think the chef could push themselves abit more to craft a better menu that can accompany the price tag.

Let me start by saying this was my second visit to the restaurant. My first time was in 2021, and it was a fantastic experience.
Four years later, we decided to return and chose the five-course menu with wine pairing.

The atmosphere felt rather unusual: the music was extremely quiet, giving the impression of entering a cathedral. We were seated on the upstairs sofa area, where the tables were, in my opinion, uncomfortably close to one another.

The appetizer was the same as four years ago—which was great. The aged meat was delicious, and the mozzarella was full of flavour.

The issues began with the first course: oysters, tendons, and hazelnut. While the concept was bold, the execution lacked balance. The dish was overly salty with a long, unpleasant aftertaste. Definitely not something I would recommend.

The second appetizer, grilled mackerel, had perfectly cooked fish, but the flavour was far too sweet, overwhelming the dish. I know other reviews disagree, but that doesn’t change my experience of the plate.
For pasta, we had cappelletti in hen broth. It was good but not remarkable. The pasta was cooked perfectly, though the broth could have been less intense.

The main course was quail served two ways—grilled and slow-cooked. Again, nothing exceptional. The slow-cooked portion was tender and appetising, but the grilled piece, meant to be eaten with the hands, was coated in the same overly sweet flavour as the mackerel.

Because we were celebrating a birthday, we were offered a full vanilla flan Parisien. It was similar to what you’d find in Paris, but felt disproportionately large compared to the earlier portions. It was good, though it could have used a couple more minutes in the oven.

We finished dinner with a simple gelato.
The wines were the pleasant surprise of the evening. The pairing was excellent; even when we didn’t enjoy a dish, the wine made sense with it, and it was clear there had been thoughtful research behind the choices.
What felt off was the staff’s behaviour. They seemed far more attentive to the next table—a single man taking photos and notes. It felt as though they were worried he might be a food critic or blogger and focused their attention on him accordingly. The staff was friendly, but not fully welcoming. After we paid, we were left to walk out on our own, and no one bothered to hold the door—something small, but appreciated in a restaurant of this level.

Thank you Zia for putting the efforts, not every meal is perfect. I will try again in a couple of years.

Chef Antonio of Zia, and his crew led by Valentina in front, plus masterful chefs in the kitchen is a memorable dreamy journey of the best tastes of Roman, Lazio, and global cuisine. Spectacular to your eyes, and tantalizing for your taste buds, highly recommend a visit to celebrate anything speical, or just to immerse in his expertise. Grazie mille Chef !

I honestly don’t understand how this restaurant holds two Michelin stars. The five-course menu featured two fish dishes back to back, both dry, skimpy, and uninspired. Especially when they had other proteins on the menu that could have added variety. (The ravioli were good)

The lower-level seating felt like a dungeon: hot, airless, and completely lacking atmosphere. Service was professional but cold, polished without warmth or charm.

Overall, the experience felt clinical and joyless. Definitely not worth the hype (or the stars).

Starting off, many reviews have said its bitter often, that’s true, I happen to be from a part of Europe this is common and I liked it, but if you don’t you may struggle.

The courses were all good and a couple truly excellent, there was maybe only one thing right at the start we thought was rather average.

Our server was Lucia (or something like that sorry if its wrong) who was lovely and explained everything well in english for us.

The atmosphere is pretty standard, not wow but very comfy.

Overall a very enjoyable 1* experience perhaps a little on the expensive end even for a Michelin resturant 🙂

The food, service, and cleanliness at this Michelin-starred restaurant were all excellent. The place was spotless, and the staff was attentive and friendly. However, while the food was enjoyable and well-prepared, it didn’t blow me away or offer that extraordinary, mind-blowing experience I expect from a Michelin star. It was good, but not special enough to warrant such high praise.

Another disappointment was the waitress’s uniform, which looked more like a pajama than anything fitting for a Michelin-star restaurant. I was expecting a more polished, professional look.

Additionally, while the restaurant was clean, the design felt very flat and lacked the wow factor.

Overall, while the experience was pleasant, I wouldn’t give this restaurant a Michelin star. For the price of 200 euros per person, I expected much more. I would consider this meal worth 80 euros per person at best.
