We were able to try multiple plates during our visit. The loco moco was decent, but unfortunately the other dishes lacked flavor. The steak, macaroni salad, shrimp, fish and teriyaki chicken were all pretty bland and didn’t stand out at all.

The portions were also very small especially considering the price. It felt like there really wasn’t much food on the plates.

As for the service, it was just okay. The cashier was polite, but the overall atmosphere didn’t feel very attentive, especially since they weren’t busy at the time. There was music playing on one side of the room but not the other, which made the dining experience feel a bit unbalanced and not well thought out.

Overall, I would rate this place a 3 out of 5. It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely didn’t meet expectations.

My husband and I are going to make the L&L BBQ Teriaki bowl a regular part of our life! The portion of chicken was generous and delicious, and they switched out the rice for a salad, which we prefer! And the pineapple-coconut smothie was delicious. Loved our meal! Healthy and tasty!

So happy to see that an L&L Drive Inn is here in Waco, TX . The staff was super helpful and friendly. The food was cooked fresh!! And the taste was like home..Hawaii delicious, very “ono” !! They also cooked our catered platter fresh and ready as we wanted to share it with our Mexican family and they loved it !! A place I will always visit when I’m in Waco.. Keep up the good work!!
Great atmosphere, merch, and local music from Hawaii artists..awesome vibes

Aloha!!

Tried to call in an Ohana pack order for our family. Guy says he can’t do that tonight. I call back and ask what they are out of so we can do individual orders. “We’re not really out of anything but we have a big catering event and if we do an Ohana we will run out tomorrow.” So…. ordering Separately costs more and is probably more work. How can they do single orders with the same ingredients and not do a family pack? Never tried their food. Probably never will now. Disappointed.

Very awsome place! Its a real hidden gem with reasonable, I would say cheap prices! Go after 7 for some cheap 3 dollar eats! Great quality food! Great service as well! I try to wait until I’ve been to a place a few times to review. So I have to give them 5 stars for 3 different good experiences. Thanks to the chefs and the whole crew who i dont know at all, but cook like they know me . Next time im going in the daytime since they are in walking distance to the dr pepper museum.

Atmosphere:
Looking at it from the outside, it shares its establishment with other restaurants, and it does not do it justice when you enter. The music/decor/ ambiance definitely suits the establishment.

Service:
The cashier was able to provide very insightful recommendations and even brought out my drink and meal together. She did so that it could compliment one another and i appreciated the gesture.

Quality:
I had the SPAM ramen and a Lilikoi (Passionfruit) Lemonade. The SPAM ramen was unique in the sense that I have never had it but had a lot of flavor to it. The amount of SPAM was substantial for the dish itself. I find myself repeating the same thing, but I also never had a Lilikoi lemonade. The Lilikoi Lemonade was so refreshing, and I can see it being a go-to summer drink.

Fili’s Fave:

Out of the items I had, the Lilikoi Lemonade is the item i recommend, especially with this summer heat.

The BBQ mix looks like something I may have to try in due time.

Honestly was blown away!! Ordered the beef and really enjoyed it. The food was flavorful and tender. I usually don’t love beef, but I really enjoyed this dish. Will definitely be coming back over and over again. Also tried a bite of my friend’s chicken, and it was SO tender and juicy.

I’m laughing at the newest 1 star review bc I can guarantee that person LOVES Hawaiian Bros and complaining that rice is stuck together? You mean to tell me that you eat dry, separated rice grains? People are pieces of work.

ANYYYYYWAY, I moved here from southern California where Hawaiian food is prominent and I’m so glad to have L&L here. This is what mac salad and spam musubi is supposed to taste like. The katsu and beef are my favorites.

I knew this location was the real deal when I saw lumpia and garlic rice on their late night menu. And the Hawaiian Sun bevs!
Yes this is a franchise, but they are very consistent. Can’t wait to come back and try everything else.

Loved the music (although a liiiiiiittle loud in towards the back of the restaurant) and the service was great.

Stopped by on way to Grandma’s house ease of Waco. We like Hawaiian food on Kauai and Maui. The chicken kudzo was cooked nicely. The sauce was too gelatinous, seems like it should be watered down and heated. The rice, macaroni salad and french fries were cooked well. On the BBQ mixed plate, the pork was good and the beef was good. The rib was sliced really thinly and was a bit tough to eat. The atmosphere is good, quirky and near many other eateries downtown. The staff are very friendly.
