Geoff’s Superlative Sandwiches has survived for over 50 years in Providence, which in the restaurant realm puts it somewhere near immortal. Even crazier, as new restaurants have opened and closed, Geoff’s has managed to seemingly get more popular each year. How? It happens to make over 90 unique sandwiches of the finest variations. All that goodness between the variety of breads would be just a cherry on top if not for the flavor you get with our famous complimentary barrel of deli pickles, located in the center of the sandwich shop. Geoff’s sandwiches are love at first bite!

Spicy pickles & deli sandwiches crammed with creative ingredients star at this quirky long-timer.

First of all the menu is huge, so many sandwiches options and on top of that you can build your own. I loved the names of their sandwiches, and each one was very unique. I tried one of the turkey sandwiches which wasn’t bad, but it felt like the combination of ingredients was a little off. There’s lots of seating inside which was nice, but we had a dog so we grabbed a park bench outside. It’s a good spot for a quick lunch or takeout sub!

What a fantastic find! I was so excited to try Geoff’s Superlative Sandwiches after hearing all the great things, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The menu is massive, and I love that I could go back over and over and try something new every time.
I went with the Providence Monthly from the “Favs” menu, and it was a 10/10. The bread was perfect, and the toppings were incredibly fresh and well-balanced. The fries were a great choice too.
Even though it was packed, the staff was awesome and handled the rush like pros. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Ordered the sandwich online, Friday around 11. The two sandwiches were just finishing. They were delicious! The bread roll was soft and flavors great. This shop had many choices to choose from and online ordering was easy to customize!

The staff lady prepping the sandwich wasn’t mean but she definitely wasn’t friendly either. No “welcome” or “have a nice day”. It was “I made the sliced bread sandwich with wheat bread, is that ok?”- “well too late now so I guess so” – I didn’t say that, I said it was fine. I’m not gonna wait for a new sandwich.

No napkins in the bag.

The floor inside was super sticky under my shoes which is an indication the rest of the restaurant/kitchen is not too clean. They use the wrong cleaning detergent or not washing the floor enough.

I would probably go back to try another sandwich.

Great sandwiches and soups! Our group of ten (six adults and four kids) stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Just beat the rush. Very friendly and efficient staff. Huge selection of sandwiches with names from Providence culture, politics, media, sports, etc.

I did a 25 sandwich order for work on DoorDash, but when I went to check out it had an error about “options not nesting correctly.” A quick Google search indicated it was an error of how the merchant set up its menu. So, two stars off. However, I was able to get the group lunch by calling the shop and doing a catering order. What was supposed to be a social lunch in the office turned into a grab and go experience because the food was an hour late. The sandwiches were delicious and the fries were crispy. I got the Dead Head with Havarti cheese and bacon on a spinach wrap. Fresh and tasty.

I’ve been meaning to check this place out for years…then I moved away…and years added on some more.

OMG, I was missing out. This was located right on South Main Street. Parking was metered and on-street. We were walking and exploring and happened to stumble upon the shop, which was perfect because I’ve always wanted to try out their sandwiches. The service was quick and friendly. The decor was rustic and there were plenty of seats/tables. I loved their huge menu on the wall and the mostly Rhode Island theme names of the sandwiches.

They have over 90 recipes and you can customize the sandwiches as you’d like. This time I tried out the “Jen and Berry” on rye; this comes with chicken salad, melted Muenster, lettuce, onions, mustard, cranberry sauce & sweet basil. Oh My Gosh. So Darn Good. The flavors intermingled so perfectly together; I wasn’t a fan of their pickles but people seem to love them. I had the Dirty Potato chips with funky flavor and Empire root beer, those were great too. If I lived in RI again, I would be there weekly. I already have a list of sandwiches I want to try out next time I visit. Not surprised they’re in business for over 40 years!

Our family visit here for lunch, we had high expectations which fell short. My Providence Monthly barely had any chicken on it, my daughter’s David Cicilline had way too big of a bun/bread for the proportion of meat, they were out of certain breads, and the side pickles tasted sour.

Best sandwich shop in Providence! It has been for decades. When friends visit from out of state, this is one of the places I will take them. The sandwiches are mouth watering. My faves are the egg salad and the tuna salad. To die for.

Food, atmosphere, and service amazing. Was doing a day trip to providence and this was one of the highly rated places to stop for lunch, glad we did! Providence monthly and monster Lisa for the lady. Bread was fresh, ingredients tasty and even gave free homade pickles.

This is the 2nd time we’ve tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I got the Savage, which I had to check to see if it even had the chicken in it. Which honestly looked and tasted like microved chicken. Soggyness between 2 GIANT pieces of bread. My husband wasn’t pleased with sandwich either. We love to try new spots every Friday so this was disappointing, especially for the price. Pictures and menu descriptions very different than what you actually get. I’ll keep my business at Provisioner in NK.
