TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Fairly new spot…came by around 5pm on a weekday and it wasn’t busy. Food came out fresh and hot. I ordered the #3 with extra hot spice level, and it was seriously delicious. Using Hattie B’s and Prince’s as my benchmark, this chicken holds up crispy, well-seasoned, and not greasy at all. The mac and cheese was pretty basic, but it’s fast food, so no complaints…still hit the spot overall.

Ordered the reaper strips. Had to sign a waiver which was somewhat weird/funny, but it wasn’t really that hot! With that said, the flavor of the sauce was absolutely disgusting. Took it back and offered to but another if I couldn’t get them exchanged. Exchanged them with zero issues. Went down two spice levels because it seems they use the same base for the hotness, just less. I couldn’t even get half way through because of the terrible flavor profile. Now, the chicken itself was cooked very well and the fries had a nice seasoning on them. The young lady who helped me was very kind and excellent at her job! Thank you!! In the end, I guess DHC is not the right flavor for me. I encourage you to try because it might be yours. Again, service was excellent

I don’t usually eat inside a fast food restaurant, but this time I’m glad I did. Service was quick. Kole, the manager that helped me was respectful and was witty, made me laugh a few times. I got the Slider with a tender and fries. Chicken was juicy. I’ll definitely hit this location up again!

Daves Hot Chicken hosted a senior class fundraiser event. Best one we’ve had all year! Marilyn and Alexis took care of everything we needed – and even had great ideas like a coaches hot bites challenge to drum up attendance and interest. Food was great. Service was very fast and efficient even with the group size. They obviously planned well for staffing and everyone had a fun time. . Now I understand why my kids are here all the time. Thanks again to Marilyn and Alexis and the rest of the staff for hosting us.

Dave’s Hot Chicken should definitely be on your list of places to visit if you consistently eat out. The menu is pretty small which makes picking what you want to have very simple. They have various spice levels for you to pick from, including a brand flavor that’s more of a novelty/experience rather than something you’d order regularly. The store is clean with lots of seating and orders come out pretty fast. This place is slightly on the expensive side but despite that it’s definitely a regular place for me. Thank you to Alexis for welcoming me in and taking my order!!

Went to Dave’s Hot Chicken and had a great experience. The line was long and the lobby was pretty full, but both Alexis were awesome especially the girl Alexis, who was super friendly, attentive, and really made sure everyone in my party felt taken care of without rushing anyone. There were three people up at the front counter which made everything run smoothly, something most places don’t have. Wait was about 8 minutes for our group of 4, dining room and bathrooms were clean, and the food was hot and fresh. Definitely coming back.
