A couple of weeks ago, I made a reservation after hearing a friend rave about the food and service at Winston’s Tavern. When we arrived last night, I realized I had accidentally booked our reservation for the following evening. The manager kindly let us know there were no open tables at the time but invited us to sit at the bar. Shortly afterward, she returned and told us there had been a cancellation and asked if we would like the table…we were so grateful that she remembered us and went out of her way to accommodate us.

Our server was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable without being intrusive. She was especially attentive and careful regarding my wheat allergy, which I truly appreciated. The food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious. I was especially excited when the dessert menu arrived and I learned the carrot cake was made with hazelnut flour, making it gluten-free/wheat-free. It was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic.

As it is a tavern, it does get a bit noisy, but it was not overwhelming and did not detract from the experience.

We had a wonderful evening and will definitely be returning. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We visited this restaurant last night and overall had a mixed experience. The atmosphere was nice and inviting, but the seating felt a bit too crowded—servers seemed to have difficulty walking behind chairs, which took away from the comfort of the space.

The highlight of our entire evening was our waiter, Zack. He was absolutely outstanding—attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. Honestly, we would come back again solely because of his service.

The food was good, but for the price point, we expected better execution and bolder flavors. The oysters were delicious and easily the best dish we had. Unfortunately, the main dishes did not stand out and fell short of being memorable. Dessert was also a letdown—the carrot cake did not taste like cake at all and was not enjoyable.

As for drinks, my peach mule was disappointing since it didn’t come in a mule cup, which took away from the experience. The pecan old fashioned was overly sweet, with far too much syrup.

Overall, there’s potential here, but some refinements to the menu, drinks, and seating layout would make a big difference. Exceptional service from Zack was the true standout of the night.

Loved the overall experience . We had a reservation and were seated right away upon arrival. For appetizers, we ordered the fried oysters with cheese – Wow! Drinks were phenomenal as well . We ordered lemon drop and mule . Entree we ordered was chicken and burger , both perfect . We ended with crème brûlée and it was cooked to perfection as well . Highly recommend this restaurant

Overall fine just not the dining experience I was expecting or what I think they are striving for. Based on reviews, thought we’d love it and it was just okay. Drinks came out with our app and I expect drinks to come first. I had the negroni sour- and my partner and I wondered if it should come with ice – negronis do, but sours don’t. Seems like wo ice and in a coup cup would be a better way to serve it. The oysters in the salad were great (6 would’ve been better than 4, but probably a price point issue). The very generous portion of greens had a very vinger heavy dressing. It was a bit unpleasant to eat. The fries with the fish and chips were great! An aioli with them would’ve been perfect. The fish was well cooked, but it came as three half fillets (like chicken strips) and not one full one. The mushy peas were cold/room temp, they should be hot. Service was fine, but not a step above normal.

Winston’s Tavern is an absolutely fantastic dining experience. From the moment I walked up to the front door, I was treated with a level of hospitality I haven’t seen in many restaurants around the area. Just by hearing the people working talk at the front, you can tell they genuinely enjoy working there.
I got the smoked peach mule to start. I was surprised it was actually a little spicy from the jalapeño vodka. Not too much to make it unenjoyable, but just enough to let you know it was there.
The steak and eggs appetizer was fantastic. It was the first time I’ve ever had steak tartar, and it was so much better than I expected it to be. Would definitely recommend getting it and giving it a try.
The duck was heavenly. Perfectly cooked and flavorful and the squash, beans, and bacon went perfectly with it.
I will absolutely be back again, and definitely recommend other people give it a try. It’s pricey, but 100% worth every penny for how good the food and service was.

What a wonderful experience! This is a great new restaurant to Evans and a very welcome addition. The yeast bread was absolutely delicious, buttery garlic goodness. The other items we tried were fish & chips + Burger and cheddar.
We loved every part of the meal, fries were seasoned well and the burger was juicy. The fish & chips was crispy and yummy mashed peas!
100% will be back and the best new restaurant in the area!

I’m excited Winston’s Tavern has moved into Evans. This isn’t a loud bar with pub food; it’s a refined dining experience. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets a different tone: polished, calm, and intentionally designed.

The menu reflects that elevated focus. Dishes are thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated, and clearly chef-driven. You can tell care is taken with ingredients, technique, and balance where everything tastes deliberate. Easily on par with fine-dining spots you’d expect to find in a larger city.

The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Recommendations feel genuine, timing is on point, and the overall experience feels curated rather than casual. It’s the kind of service that enhances the meal instead of distracting from it.

Even the bar program fits the fine-dining vibe. Cocktails are well-crafted and balanced, the wine list is intentional, and everything pairs naturally with the menu instead of feeling like an afterthought.

Highly recommend the CHICKEN FRANÇAISE. It’s incredibly tender and seasoned to perfection. The clam chowder is also very flavorful as are the bread rolls.

If you’re looking for your next dinner or date night spot you should check this place out, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I will recommend you make a reservation ahead of time as the restaurant can be quite busy at times.

Only thing I didn’t really prefer is how cramped some of the tables are and depending on where the sit the lighting differs significantly. Overall experience was good and I would return.

Presentation was good but the lamb shank was unseasoned and still had the gaminess taste. The grits accompaniment tastes like uncooked rice. Rockefeller oysters remain bland with the only flavor coming through from the lemon. Seriously recommend the chef/owner to step into a country with spices and add more flavor into the dishes. For a fine dining restaurant this place falls very short.

This was our 2nd time at Winstons after a positive first experience. My wife and I had an incredible waiter, Zack, who was cheerful, insightful, and attentive the entire night. The drinks and food were perfect. Zack’s recommendations for our entrees were much appreciated! He was great, and on our way out we briefly met the GM who has a professional and caring aura. Highly recommend Winstons to anyone looking for great food in an intimate setting with excellent service. 10/10.
