Booked this venue for a birthday celebration. Dean was very helpful in helping me to plan the day to accommodate needs. Natalia led her team on the day were very accommodating and helpful and efficient in their service. The venue – beautiful, staff wonderful and the food was amazing. All in all it was a perfect afternoon. Many thanks to all the staff who contributed to an outstanding afternoon.

Well, took mum out for lunch today and what a lovely experience as always. What can I say … Abi was absolutely on point … very attentive, kind and respectful throughout our meal. She was great right from the start … I noticed a couple of times that she was checking by looking , without interrupting (I don’t mean this in a negative sense at all) it just shows that she knows exactly what she’s doing and did ask on a couple of occasions if everything was okay.
A great member of staff, very friendly and was engaging when we talked with her and was very friendly. Overall a great experience and lovely food and drinks. Thank you to the F+F ✅

First visit to The Forge & Fern to take my Mum out for Sunday lunch last weekend (17.08.24).
I made a reservation as not knowing the venue I didn’t want to chance a walk in. I glad I did as the venue was busy as it was a nice day. I think I will always book in future to guarantee a table.
The venue looks great and had a nice atmosphere and with it being a Sunday there was a nice mix of people creating a good vibe that was both cool but not pretentious (perfect balance of your out with family).
All staff were friendly and checked in throughout the meal without being full on, which Mum loved.
The food was exceptional, great portion size, to a high standard and at a slightly lower price to the decent venues in town.
I’m looking forward to returning soon.

Great local restaurant. Went there for Christmas Eve and had the Christmas special menu. Had the Cailiflower Soup, Game Pie and Salted Chocolate Cream cake and all the food was delicious. Quantity weren’t ove the top but quality was definitely there. Staff was very helpful and competent. They have some great wines too. Would definitely recommend. Very modern decoration as well.

We went here for a Sunday Roast, it was absolutely amazing, the food was incredible and we got served very quickly. It was busy so we were surprised by the fast service ! It was very loud however with big groups for parties but cannot fault the food or the staff. Very good prices for the portion sizes. 10/10.

Amazing New Years Eve with the fabulous staff and food at the Forge and Fern! Never disappoints and catered for all our allergies and preferences with no questions asked. So I’ve been here a couple of times now for different meals. Lunch and Sunday lunch are both great, generous portions and tasty. Service has been very attentive and friendly, though when it’s busy you have to wait a while but that’s to be expected.
Breakfast was a slight let down after the other positive experiences. If you like a poached egg, then this is the place for you, otherwise options are limited. Portions were on the smaller side and service was elusive. Still good food though!

Me & my husband visited last Sunday for a roast dinner and we were super impressed. This was our first visit to Forge & Fern and we will certainly be returning. Christian who served us was really friendly & helpful and nothing was too much trouble! The decor is really lovely and we were amazed to find out they make their own honey from a bee hive on the roof & two types of gin, made in the gin distillery below the restaurant. I’m a big Bloody Mary fan and they made it absolutely perfectly (I like mine spicy!) and there was also a great selection of local beers, ciders & ales. The roast dinner was incredible (I had the pork belly & my husband had the trio of meats with a side of the truffle cauliflower cheese) and we managed to squeeze in a sticky toffee & date pudding for dessert which was delicious! We would recommend F&F and hope to return soon to try their main menu.

Breakfast – don’t bother ! The sausage was lovely but that’s about it!! Beans were tepid at best, toast was cold, poached egg watery and bacon was cremated. Shame really as nice place but shouldn’t really be serving food of this poor quality.
