Decent food, good atmosphere and friendly service. Bartender forgot about us during shift change so had to wait a bit before the new guy picked us up.
Fried pickles for an appetizer were good. Had their ranch and sauce that came with it. Both were good.
Ordered the black and bleu burger with raw onions. Good flavor, the cheese was good. Fries were good also. Reasonable prices.

I heard about this tavern on a Kenosha.Radio station WLIP… I work in Kenosha.I am from Mchenry.. I always heard about the wednesday special.The reuben… finally, went there and the reuben is on the menu….. Hands down scratch food….. I had the cream of carrot soup.It was amazing.. My buddy had the philly cheesesteak….. It was huge, he commented on how big the portion was….. We set at the bar. I really wanted to have a bloodymary, but I had to decline…. I’m sure it would have been as good as our lunch… the gal behind the bar.

The Italian beef sandwich is the what the tavern service talks about and it delivered. Meat was delicious, spices where just right and I believe I ate the sandwich in 3 min. I paired it with the fried mushroom which was perfect. Easily a meal you could two or three times a week.

This place has amazing food and service and we can’t wait to get back. It is definitely a local favorite but the food is better than most places we go that are twice as expensive. We both had the Cod fish fry served with fries and homemade coleslaw which I could just eat that! I had Chicken Tortilla soup and my wife the Clam Chowder both were delicious. We had Cheese curds for an appetizer and the order was enough for 4 adults. Please give them a try!

Well, what can you say? This is a nifty little pub and eatery! 5+1 in my book. The young lady who served us, I believe her name was Joy, was amazing. She discussed the entire menu. Her conversational skills are extraordinary! She’s a real class act that blends in well with customers and the establishment. Remember to leave her a nice tip! The fish fry, the cod especially, and the cream of shrimp soup was delicious. My monster burger was very tasty and done exactly as I requested. My granddaughters Italian beef was perfectly done with just the right amount of juice. My Coors light was very cold, just the way I like it. The decorum which was very inviting, dimly-lit, along with good music. The games were on the televisions, the conversations and interactions on a Friday night were in full bloom. I would recommend Green Town Tavern as a spot to eat, have a cocktail, and good conversation with friends. What are you waiting for? After all aren’t shamrocks supposed to bring you good fortune?

I don’t leave many 2-star reviews, but when I do… They are well deserved.
Our service and food were not good. I went with my dad and sister, I split a cheeseburger with my sister and my dad ordered a brat.
Our burger came out burnt on the outside and then I realized our waiter didn’t ask how we wanted it cooked. The burger was not good. Edible is a good descriptor.
Then, the brat never came. We asked the waiter and she completely forgot to put the order in. I would go back and give it a second chance though, it was my first time and could’ve just been a bad experience which can happen anywhere.

Took way too long for me to give this local place a try. It stood up to all the things, that people claimed. Had a order to go and while waiting it felt very community like. I felt at home. My pattymelt was onion cheese goodness. I will return the appetizers look good.

I finally got a chance to stop by this Waukegan institution for dinner. I had the wing basket which was an excellent price for a lot of food. The wings were quality, well cooked, and piping hot. I’m not the best photographer, but I’ll drop a photo. The server, Sam I think, was really nice and really quick. If you’re looking for a bite or a place to share a drink, it’s a really classic midwest vibe in there.
