The food is amazing here. It is located in a old Town in which had some nice vibes. I ordered the platter with rice, pork, and beans. This is a must combo. The rice is wonderfully seasoned and directly complements the pork. Pork is tender and juicy! I love my pork salted well and this place does that exactly. The beans are amazing with the rice. I mixed them in and this enhances the food to the next level! Yum!

Lovely hole in the wall in Holyoke. Cafeteria-style check out but very pretty and welcoming decor, and very clean. I’m not even sure what I ate, everything was going so fast through the line, but it was a very tasty chicken and tomato dish. I also had the rice with shrimp and the homemade tres leches cake was sinfully good.

My husband tried this place for the first time today and had a terrible experience. He ordered a $16 plate and handed the cashier a $50 bill. She only gave him $4 back and insisted he gave her a $20. When he showed her another $50 from his wallet to explain, she just shook her head and refused to acknowledge the mistake.

On top of that, the food was awful he took one bite and said it tasted spoiled, like it had been reheated from days ago. Between the money issue and the rotten food, we won’t be coming back.

Very homey and comfortable place! The food is delicious, served by extremely friendly people, and most importantly… the taste is perfect! It’s definitely an abuela approved place to eat. 10/10 would recommend!

I was having the worst day and my friends and I stopped to get some food here, just randomly. I knew they would enjoy the food but I’m vegan and tbh I expected I would end up cooking a meal when I got home.

To my delight, not only did they have vegan options, but they also said if I call ahead, they can make even more vegan options!

I went with her recommendation and forgot to even check the name of the first dish. I think it was camote, which is traditionally served with eggs but totally didn’t need them to taste great. And they made a yucca (cassava) that made me finally understand why people like yucca.

La Isla also has 3 types of homemade drinks but I was so eager to get the tamarind, I forgot to check what the other 2 were.

My friends got soup, a meat dish, a chicken dish, and 2 different cake slices. They were thrilled and ate too fast for me to get photos.

This is a must-visit!

Food is good. Service is horrible. As soon as I came in the front lady spoke to the others and they were making fun of the way I was dressed. (Maybe I was a little overdress for a restaurant like theirs) the ladies even got me recorded. I saw that and they were making comments among them. I felt horrible. I couldn’t say nothing just for not to cause a scene since judging them like they did to me they sure look like arrabaleras. It is very unprofessional to behave like this in a place were you are trying to sell a service. I know I won’t go again here. Not demure, not classy. Horrible experience. So, if you come here you’ll have to dress with jeans and flip-flops maybe they won’t feel so bother by the beauty of others.

This was the first Latino Restaurant I tried and have been a loyal patron since. The location changed since my last visit but the service and quality has not. It has a very welcoming vibe and delicious food. Highly recommend!
