This was a very authentic, beautifully decorated Puerto Rican restaurant! My husband and I enjoyed the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, French fries and tostones. Steak was cooked well and the sides were also good. Gave their service 3 starts because when I asked for flan they said they had one left and after they brought it to me I noticed it had mold on it. I brought it to their attention and they promptly threw it away and removed it from my receipt, but there was no apology or apparent remorse for giving me food that was apparently sitting there so long it grew mold. They did give me a few bucks off as a discount as well, which was very kind of them, just wish they would have been more attentive about what they’re giving to their customers, I came here specifically because I was craving flan and would rather have been told that there’s none left, instead of being brought moldy food. Otherwise, the food and atmosphere were good.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was full of authentic Latino flavor—fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. You can really feel the culture and passion behind the food. If you’re looking for real Latino cuisine with great service, this spot is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I enjoyed the authentic experience of this Puerto Rican restaurant. The food was good and the painted murals on the walls even better. We did have to return the flan because it had mold on it, but our server took it off our bill and gave us a discount. Overall, I’d say it’s a great place to eat if you want some authentic Puerto Rican food while in El Paso.

The food was great and the atmosphere was nice. Jorge was my server and helped me pick what to get and his recommendation was right! I will be coming back here, wish I found out about this place sooner.

The first few times I came here, the food was very good and I really enjoyed the experience. However, the last few visits haven’t been as great as before. My favorite item is definitely the rice — it’s still one of the best parts of the meal. On a positive note, the server was kind, attentive, and provided great customer service. I hope the food quality improves because I used to really enjoy coming here.

During a recent visit to 787 Restaurant and Bar, I had the opportunity to experience a taste of Puerto Rico in the heart of El Paso. The restaurant’s name pays homage to the island’s area code, and from the moment I stepped inside, the ambiance reflected a thoughtful effort to capture the spirit and warmth of Puerto Rican culture.

For my meal, I ordered mofongo con camarones, accompanied by a side of arroz y habichuelas. The mofongo—a traditional dish made of mashed green plantains—was well-executed, with a firm yet tender texture and a subtle garlic flavor that paired nicely with the generous serving of sautéed shrimp. The camarones were fresh, perfectly cooked, and complemented by a flavorful sofrito-based sauce that elevated the dish without overpowering the mofongo.

The arroz y habichuelas (rice and beans), a staple in Puerto Rican cuisine, were a satisfying addition. The rice was well-cooked and fluffy, while the beans were seasoned just right, with hints of adobo and sazón coming through in each bite. The balance between the two elements showed attention to traditional preparation methods and an understanding of authentic flavor profiles.

Service was courteous and attentive throughout my visit, and the dining atmosphere was clean and inviting, with tasteful decor that celebrates Puerto Rican heritage.

Overall, 787 Restaurant and Bar delivers a commendable culinary experience for anyone seeking Puerto Rican cuisine in El Paso. The quality of the food, combined with thoughtful presentation and a warm dining environment, makes it a standout destination for both newcomers to the cuisine and those longing for a taste of home.

It saddens me to say that we did not enjoy returning to this restaurant. We had been here before and liked it. Today we had very bland food that seemed to have no seasoning. My daughter ordered the mofongo with chicken and garlic – there was no garlic or even salt. I ordered the mofongo con carne frita, no seasoning for the meat or mofongo or caldo de pollo. We ordered two triplets sandwiches to go and my husband and son said that they also lacked flavor. The waitress was nice and the atmosphere was great.

Came here a couple of times and i think the food was very food. The only comment I would say I asked for a churrasco medium rare and it was well done instead. But overall everything else was good. I tried their lemonade and it was pretty good. The service was also good both the gentleman and the lady there were very friendly and polite

I’m from El Paso but my husband is from Puerto Rico. He LOVED the food from 787 and we will definitely come back to have more next time we’re in town. We had carne frita, arroz con gandules, maduros, tostones and an empanada. It was all so flavorful and came out quickly. The vibe and the service were great too!
