We were in town for a wedding and popped in here on Kentucky Derby day for a beer. What a serendipitous choice! The place is a beautiful old school neighborhood bar with tons of framed photos that can tell a great story. They had spruced it up to create a race day theme and had great food for free – sauerkraut and sausage kind of stuff. Everyone was friendly. They have a great jukebox. What a great little bar!!

Female bartender refused my friend service – claimed she was “only serving friends and family” which is not a legitimate reason to refuse service to a patron. She also went out from behind the bar to physically assault said friend when he demanded reasoning for her lack of hospitality and denying a paying customer service. Given the choice between this establishment and Key West, Key West is the greater option of the two, and that’s saying a lot.

Terrible service. Will not return. Walked in on a Friday at around 8om hoping for karaoke. Bartender did not acknowledge us, but says to people sitting at the bar: last call in 5 minutes. Got the message sister, loud and clear. There was no karaoke or DJ, not even music playing!
