This place is awesome. A fun and inviting atmosphere for a Japanese meal or more party like Hibachi. Service was awesome from the entry. Full bar with good cocktails. Food was delicious and chef was fun. Something you for sure need to do when visiting Rawlins. Parking was ok. Prices fair for the quality.

After a disappointing visit to a very similar establishment last week, my faith in US hibachi was restored by Rawlins Ichiban. Even though I was a lone diner, the restaurant had no hesitation in seating me at a hibachi table. Great food prepared with style by the chef (from Bali btw). A little pricey, but worth it, and highly recommended

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside, the food is amazing (see pictures), and the staff are friendly. I especially recommend the tuna jalapeno appetizer, rainbow roll, and the chef’s sashimi special!!! Prices here are fair. Definitely big city quality sushi in a small part of Wyoming. I’m very impressed! The rice that came with the chef’s sashimi special was perfectly seasoned. Truly, so glad I came here!

I was just passing through and spending the night in Rawlins and this place honestly wasn’t even on my radar initially. There wasn’t much in the way of restaurant options close to my motel and the one place I was going to go to was closed, so this ended up being just a last resort thing for me. Fortunately though, it turned out to be a very good fortune! Chinese and Japanese food are not really my thing, so when I first sat down and looked at the menu I was thinking to myself that I just made a huge mistake. That was not the case though. The food seriously was phenomenal! But what really blew me away is the service. Rather than having to rely on a single server like almost all restaurants, this place all of the servers would constantly stop by and check on me. I never had to wait for anything that I needed! If you’re looking for someplace to eat, I would not hesitate stopping in here. I ended up very full and very happy!!

The food and service were great—everything was tasty and well-prepared. I especially enjoyed the flavors and the overall experience. However, I’m giving 4 stars because the plate I was served had noticeable chips on the edge, which took away a bit from the presentation. Cleanliness and safety matter, so I hope this gets addressed. Other than that, it was a solid dining experience!

We had one of the worst dining experiences at this hibachi restaurant in Rawlins. On 08/10/2025 around 7:45 PM, even though we asked for no “show” performance, the chef still attempted one. During that show, his spatula slipped, shattered my drink glass, and spilled my drink all over me while my baby was sitting right next to me. This could have caused serious injury and was a completely unsafe and unprofessional situation.

The immediate response from the staff was unacceptable — their attitude was dismissive, irresponsible, and showed no concern for the safety of their customers. To make matters worse, they even charged me for the spoiled drink that was spilled all over me.

The management has also handled this situation very poorly. Instead of taking accountability, showing concern, and working quickly to resolve the matter, they have been unresponsive, unhelpful, and unwilling to take reasonable responsibility.

As a customer with a baby involved in this dangerous incident, I expected professionalism, empathy, and proper follow-up. Instead, I’ve been forced to chase them for even basic communication, request that video footage be preserved, and ask for their liability insurance information.

This is not how any business should treat its guests, especially when their own negligence created the problem. Because of their lack of accountability and unwillingness to handle the matter properly, I will now be taking this case to court!

Best restaurant in Carbon County, hands down. Staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. Atmosphere is friendly and fun, Hibachi chefs are hilarious and engaging.

Food is fantastic. I’ve been to sushi restaurants all over and worked at one in southern California, I’ve never had better fish than Ichiban.

This is the best place to go hands down, tourist or not. The katsu chicken bento is so filling and very delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. I absolutely love this place and wish I could take it with me on my travels!

My family and I loved the atmosphere and my son loved looking at the space lights on the ceiling. It was a good bonding experience. Never in my life had this best of a time in a restaurant. The cooks need a raise! lol

Stopped by while traveling across country, and this place was *great*! The food is terrific, our hibachi chef was one of the best we’ve ever had, and the prices were very reasonable. My 6 year old daughter was afraid there would be fire, but by the end of the meal the chef had her rolling with laughter and enjoying every minute of the stay. The restaurant is colorfully decorated, very clean, and full of fun surprises. Highly recommended, easily worth taking the detour.

Hands-down the best restaurant in Rawlins. Every single thing I got was delicious—the takoyaki, poke salad, seaweed salad, and the tempura banana dessert. Prices were reasonable, especially for the quality. Will recommend this place to every single person I know who has to go to Rawlins, because it’s maybe the only reason to go back.
