We have been coming here for years as it’s our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Service was great with frequent check ins. Our main dishes were delicious, as always. However, we ordered guacamole and received a soupy mixture on a plate. If avocados were in it, there must have been 3x as much tomato and onion and lime juice. Very bizarre! The other unusual thing is we were charged $3.89 per water. It was just regular water! We’ll try again but if it’s the same as tonight, we will explore other options.

I truly love this place! My wife and I have been coming here for years because the prices are always reasonable, the food is consistently outstanding, and the service is great.
I can honestly say that every time we’ve been here, the food has been delicious. Everything is made from scratch, and you can definitely tell. Portions are extremely generous, and you get alot for your money. As of the date of this review, their dinner combos, which are all priced uniformly at $14.99, are a true bargain, because for that you get a gigantic plate of food! On this most recent visit on 9/18/25, I had a combo with an enchilada, a burrito, beans and rice. Everything was extremely tasty, and as per usuaI, I had enough left over for a hearty meal at home.
Though you really can’t go wrong with anything you order, there are two standouts I have to mention. First, if you like fajitas, you’ve got to try the ones here. They are beyond incredible, no matter what filling you choose. Second, you MUST try their flan, a traditional Mexican custard-like dessert with a sweet, syrupy topping. The flan here is heavenly. If you’ve never had it, this is the place to try it. I’ve eaten flan many places over the years, and their flan is literally the best I’ve ever had.
Service here is always phenomenal as well. Every server we’ve ever had here has been friendly and attentive, and they’ve always brought food out quickly, while it’s still piping hot. This time our server even went the extra mile. Early in our meal, we mentioned to him how much we loved the place, and how wonderful we thought the food was. Our compliments were rewarded when he unexpectedly arrived after our meal with a surprise free dessert (flan!). It’s hard to find service like that these days!
If you enjoy Mexican food, I highly recommend you give this place a try. It definitely is the best you’ll find anywhere around here. No matter where you’re coming from, I think you’ll find the trip will be worth it.

I’ve been coming here for years, which makes this especially disappointing. I stopped in for lunch with a friend and my child. The food was mediocre, but the real issue was the service afterward. The waitress added a larger tip to my debit card than the amount I authorized.
I called to report it and was told a manager or owner would contact me, but I never received a follow-up. That lack of accountability is unacceptable.
I will not be returning or spending another dollar here. I strongly recommend keeping your receipt if you choose to dine here—especially if Sharon is working.

Good Mexican restaurant in the heart of Newark, NY. The chips, salsa, and service were great. Stars off as it was quiet on a Sunday afternoon and my party of 5 was seated at a dirty table that wasn’t wiped down. The menus also are very dirty and need to be wiped down. My friends all enjoyed their meals. I had the taco salad with beef and it ended up being more like meat soup. It wasn’t within my tastebuds desire but my friends all had great meals- especially my friend that had the shrimp fajitas.
I will definitely be back as my friends’ meals all looked delicious, the blue margarita was good, and the service was great.

Dish were good and reasonably priced, it was American Mexican. Did not upcharge for getting a double serving of rice instead of beans. When seated it brought chips and salsa. When we went for lunch it was pretty quite. Would come back.

Stopped in for dinner with my family ordered their ribeye steak dish and received a dried out T-bone instead. Tried to explain the mix up and nothing came from it. Still charged for ribeye. On top of that was charged for 3 cokes when the only drinks ordered were 2 kids apple juice.
It was Valentine’s Day and I get they were a little busy but it took forever to get the check.

Mainstay of our family visits to Newark. We often wind up here because it’s so reliably good. Got the grilled jalapenos app this time, and they were excellent. Not fancy, layout is a bit spare, but the food and vibe hit the spot.
