Our first time here – will definitely be back again. Felicity was so wonderful – took care of everybody in the restaurant and food came out accordingly. Food was good, I ordered the turkey pesto sandwich and it was to die for. My husband ordered the outlaw burger – only thing to complain about is that the burger was very dry. Literally had no sauce at all. Besides the no sauce the flavor was still good. Another thing I would complain about is with my garlic fries, I had accidentally eaten an entire garlic clove and that wasn’t lovely at all lol but after that I was more mindful which French fry to eat next haha. Thank you!

This was a wonderful surprise. Great food, lovely open seating and very clean. The food had a much higher quality than expected for a small grill/diner. Food wasn’t comically large, but instead responsibly portioned. Left feeling full and my wallet didn’t take a big hit. Great first impressions.

This was a great spot for a dinner out. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming and the service was great. The food was very tasty and the portions were perfectly matched to the pricing. They do have the menu on QR code but if you like a paper menu, make sure to bring your reading glasses as the paper copies are small print. We will definitely return for a second visit and we were happy with West Pioneer Grill.

This was our first time visiting West Pioneer Grill, and it was a huge disappointment. The service was so poor! With only about 12 tables in the establishment, we waited about 20 minutes at our table before we even saw a server to see if we had been given menus. There were two servers at the time we were there and no communication between them. Even after our order was taken another 20 minutes later, the other server stopped and asked if we had been given menus! Our burgers were good, and they have great fries. The cheesecake was terrible and tasted frozen as well as the mushy strawberries that were put on top. Couldn’t understand why when we were in the heart of Puyallup and berry farms, they were not using fresh strawberries. After being at this restaurant an hour and forty minutes, there were still tables that had not been cleared of dirty dishes since we sat down. Not somewhere we will visit again.

I honestly am not even sure why that place wasn’t packed on a Friday. Food was amazing, staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. Food was all freshly made to order. Their AC is amazing too, if you’re stopping for a bite to eat this summer, I wouldn’t look any further.

The food was fantastic! The service was good. I’m giving a lower score because of the atmosphere. We were there on a Saturday in the late afternoon. When we got there, almost every table was full. As people finished their meals and left, none of the tables got cleared. It wasn’t that they were too busy to clear the tables because this was the lull between late lunch and the dinner rush. There were 2-3 employees standing around and talking. It actually stressed me out to see almost every table was dirty and wouldn’t be available immediately if someone came in. We’ll be back to try again though because the food was that good.

Great small town feel cafe for a big appetite! Highly recommend you give this place a try! The customer set was excellent (a team of waitstaff, not just one assigned to you) and saw them helping one another out during a busy shift. The kitchen hit a home run with their smoked Gouda and egg burger and the kids burger was more than enough for my 10 year old. I had the classic Italian with grilled onions and it did not disappoint! Great job to the West Pioneer Cafe!

UPDATE 10/24 – After my third visit for work, this is still my favorite place to eat while in town!!! Customer service is slooooow, but I have found that the food is worth the wait. 2023 – Food was unbelievably good! I had The Desperado…very tasty!
Atmosphere was nice and clean. Music was a bit loud … if your wanting to relax for lunch.
Server was attentive but unhappy.
