It’s like eating in Chicago without the drive.

Took the wife there for Thursday night prime rib and we were absolutely and pleasantly surprised by the environment of the dining room, and the food and the cheerful service. We will be back. Hard to believe a place like this is in Buchanan, we think it feels like the back dining room at st Elmo’s in Indianapolis.

Amazing experience from start to finish.
Customer service was great! I had called ahead of time to make sure the place was open for dinner and a nice cheerful lady answered the phone. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful as well.
The restaurant felt like I was in a Anthropologie magazine! Gorgeous and comfortable clean spaces. They put a lot of thought and details to make the restaurant aesthetic and unique. Nice music selections playing and everything was just pleasing to the eyes! So classy and charming.
Food was amazing. I highly recommend the butter bread board. We ordered a ginger and elderberry fizzy drink. The waitress added edible vegan glitter to mine so she wouldn’t mix it up with my husband’s. It was a sweet gesture and it made the drink look extra magical. It tasted light and refreshing.
We ordered the Bucktown Pasta and a burger. Generous portion sizes, tasty flavor! We took our time and did not feel rushed out. Definitely coming back and bringing my friends and family!

We had a great dinner at TDR, we had the crab cakes, half chicken and beef pot pie. Crab cakes were excellent, full of crab and flavor, not a ton of filler. Both entrees were great, the mashed potatoes a highlight. We also had the flourless chocolate dessert which was decadent. Service was great and we were not rushed. Highly recommend and will be back!

We shared early Saturday dinner with friends. Nice atmosphere, quiet, upscale. Excellent cocktails, nice salmon du jour. the Paella with a lobster tail and scallops was outstanding. Lots of local flavors, Local ciders . Definitely will be back!

This is a wonderfully renovated historical building with really beautiful aesthetic. The menu is varied with something for everyone. I had the portobello sandwich and it might be the best one I’ve had. The calamari is also a must try appetizer. So happy to have a restaurant of this quality in our town.

Delicious food in a charming atmosphere in historic Buchanan. My husband & I came here for a dinner date, and were very impressed. We shared the goat cheese & blueberry preserves with crostini for an appetizer, which was a wonderful & creative flavor combination. I ordered the salmon with lentil pilaf and beurre blanc for my entree – the salmon was cooked perfectly and the flavors were excellent. The yuzu cheesecake for dessert tasted fantastic. The service was quick, professional and friendly, and the atmosphere here is cute and cozy. We’ll be back. I highly recommend giving Thistledown & Row a try!

Really pretty place to get a nice meal. Fun addition to Buchanan for sure. Menu is just big enough, lots of options that all sounded good. We got the stuffed cremini mushrooms, turkey rillette sandwich, minced portabella burger and brussels sprouts, all of which were amazing but especially the charred sprouts and the stuffed mushrooms. Service was amazing as well, thank you Kayla! Would recommend and will be back.

Went for the first time to the restaurant for a Valentine’s meal. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice – there was even a Crooner singing 30’s, 40’s and 50’s tunes. A nice touch. The parsnip and leek soup was good. The filet mignon ordered medium was very tender, but highly salted which unfortunately ruined the taste of the meat for my spouse and I. It was also underdone. The desserts were nice, however. For a $100 per plate meal the main course unfortunately missed the mark.

We visited this gem of a restaurant this weekend for brunch with our two kiddos in tow. As a recent transplant from Chicago, this restaurant feels like it could easily exist in the West Loop in terms of style and ambiance, but has all the small town charm when it comes to service. We had excellent drinks (the mocktails have pixie dust and entertained my children more than a drink should) and the food was really solid. Nice to see this little corner of Michigan getting the love and investments!
