This unique and exotic restaurant is located in a quiet and green section of the famous Route 66! The parking is plenty and easy. The main restaurant is located as open air in the patios. There are waterfalls and water fountains, so it makes feel very soothing and comfortable. The food was authentic and delicious. I ordered my favorite Lamb shank and I was not disappointed. The meat was very tender and juicy. The pita bread was soft and the pickles were mild and fresh. The big surprise was about to come: the lights were dimmed and the music was laud, then there was the belly dancer! Her performance was so beautiful and breathtaking! I was very content and satisfied with this wonderful dinning experience! I certainly will come back to this restaurant again!
Unfortunately, over time the quality has declined significantly. On my recent visits, the food lacked the depth of flavor it was once known for. Dishes that used to be vibrant and perfectly seasoned now taste bland and rushed. The meats were good and tender, portions were ok, but overall freshness seemed compromised especially of the appetizers.
What makes this more disappointing is knowing how great this place used to be. It had built a reputation for excellence, and many loyal customers supported it because of that standard. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and returns to the quality and authenticity that once made this restaurant stand out in LA’s competitive Middle Eastern food scene.
I’m sharing this not out of negativity, but out of hope that they can bring back the exceptional experience they once consistently delivered.
We had fruit hookah and it was delicious! They were great at keeping the coals hot.
We tried so much…salads, grape leaves, hummus, pita and so many delicious appetizers. We also tried a bunch of kebabs and rice and roasted veggies. Excellent spot!!
. The portion is not enough for 2. Owner has to visit Mal sham in San Diego for example to know how generous the portion is. What sad is the cost of the meal is not the raw ingredients. The koftas are near a joke size. Itvis smaller than a real one cut in half. Every time i say it is the last time. I like service there I am not sure that owner does notice a decline in the number of his or her customers. Do not blame inflation and economy. Blame greed and lack of generosity. A person should leave the restaurant full instead of going home and eat at home immediately after which my husband did to allow our kids to be full. I wish I took photos. Hope it will become again a better place.
The service was phenomenal, the food was even better. Fast, attentive, and fun atmosphere. They have a dancer that comes out on Saturday night who entertained all the diners! Great customer service in a very clean environment. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants and this is one of the best Mediterranean ones I’ve ever eaten at!
You eat outside in a covered environment. They have heaters spread around in case you end up getting cold. This place also allows Hookah smoking which they provide with many different flavors if that’s something you’re interested in.
Special events are a set menu. We have always enjoyed their food but it didn’t seem the same. Also, this time around the entertainment was below par. I felt bad with the guy singing with a sub par sound system. It was a one man show similar to a street performer. The belly dancer was great.
The menu did not include a desert. This place is on a decline. Sorry to see this place is losing its flare.
Ordered online, and service got my order to me on time. The shaded outdoors area had a surprisingly amount of people enjoying each other’s company and a better atmosphere than I thought. I did see a lot of smoke from one of the table, but not sure what the customer was smoking (maybe vape).
