The food was great, service was amazing, and the music selection was awesome! Will definitely be back again! We had the crab dip and catfish strips for appetizers and the the southern chicken and seafood combo with mac and cheese, collard greens and sweet potatoes for our entrees. I was so stuffed but that didn’t stop me from ordering the peach cobbler to go!

My daughter’s graduation dinner was done here. We made reservations In advance and they kindly accommodated my party of 23. They explained to me up front how the dinner would go from start to finish. We had 5 servers, some were fairly new, And you could tell they were learning the ropes. A few small mistakes were made with food selection but with management and seasoned staff to help, they were quickly corrected. We all had different dishes and I must say everyone was happy with their food selection ,taste and presentation. Will I go there again? Most Definitely!! I would have never thought to have had my daughter’s dinner done here if it wasn’t for staff member -Wendy, She did such a amazing job with our table at a Sunday brunch that I attended for the 1st time at De Soul and she suggested this will be a great place to have my family’s Celebration dinner.Thanks for making our evening one we will never forget!

Nice atmosphere. Polite staff. The baked chicken wasn’t amazing but it was edible. The asparagus was bland. The seafood platter was good. And the peach cobbler was tasty.

Delicious food. Very slow service. Perhaps due to Valentine’s Day, it took over an hour to get our food after ordering. The drinks took about 30 minutes. I would try again since I did enjoy the food, but not on a possibly busy night.

Food was good– couldn’t complain. Each course came out quickly! The service was excellent. Our server was very nice and checked on us often. Great ambiance and music. Went on a Saturday night and it wasn’t too packed. I wouldn’t mind going again.

Decor is gorgeous and pristine, but the food does not live up to it, unfortunately. I’m pretty sure the fries they gave us are the same kind they serve at the college’s cafeteria, and the turkey burger I had was pretty sad. They could have served a quarter of the fries and cut the price by a good few dollars; everything was too much or not enough. Can’t say it was terrible, but I don’t think I’d bother going back.

I would truly like to thank the staff of De Soul Cafe, especially Wendy for accommodating my family as we celebrated My Mother/Grandmother/Aunt 68th Birthday. Although they weren’t expecting us, Wendy went above and beyond to meet our need. The staff was very professional and very polite and the food OMG, the food tasted amazing and was replenished often. I know that My Mom was smiling down from heaven as we gathered to eat, laughed & share our love for Her and one another.

Cool happy hour and dinner spot. Nice bar, good soul food, and friendly/attentive staff. The waitress even offered to escort my daughter to the bathroom, so as not to interrupt our dining.

The food was good for the most part, but the service was not. We had a large party (over 20 ppl) that previous reservation were made. The staff was not prepared, it took us over 30 minutes to be seated and about an hour to place our order and another hour or more for the food. The waitress was very rude an inexperienced. The bartender wasn’t pleasant or experienced either. The ambiance was great. …they need better staffing and it starts at the top.

Went here for lunch last week. The food was good, the drink I ordered was good, and the service was great. The shrimp on the appetizer menu were as big as the palm of my hand. The crab cakes on the main course menu were good as well. No complaints at all. I will be returning.
