We ate at Movie Star Restaurant on Sunday, and it was absolutely packed — which tells you something right away. The food was outstanding. Classic Southern-style cooking, self-serve, hot, fresh, and exactly what you hope for when you walk in. The dessert selection was excellent, and the ice cream was a big hit with the kids.

What really stood out was the service. Even with a full house, the staff was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. They also offer a discount for kids under 12, which is a great touch and much appreciated for families.

If you’re looking for real Southern comfort food done right, this place delivers. Easy 5 stars from us.

This was our second visit, and I must say, we were disappointed.
Best part of the chicken was the fried coating. Same for the cutlet.
The rest was underwhelming.
Our server offered to refill our drinks on three different occasions, she didn’t. Just ran right by, even though we were trying to get her attention. Yes, it was lunch, yes they were busy, there were enough employees, but, nope. The atmosphere was nostalgia, the place was saturated with memorabilia. That was interesting. However, it was a huge room, and pretty dark…at noon.
Everyone was nice, but, disappointed.

Stopped by this place to grab a bite to eat. It’s good southern “buffet style” food. The majority of places cook their vegetables with some sort of meat in it and I usually skip out because not everyone eat pork. This place cooked all of their vegetables without any meat and still plenty of flavor. The cornbread wasn’t to sweet and the tea was refreshing. There are lots of vintage signs, posters, and artifacts throughout the facility.

Wonderful buffet-style meats and veggies. Real mashed potatoes, great southern fried chicken. Love their blueberry-pineapple dessert. Really crowded this visit so checkout was long; they only had 1 register. Food was plentiful and line moved quickly.Highly recommend.

This was our first time and it was great. The waiter was very good and the food was great, plenty of it and hot. A large buffet. Friendly people but was a little noisy. Easy to get to. We diffently will be going back as often as we can. Loved all the old signs and antiques. Great place to eat !!!

Large dining area, excellent service, unique decor and ambiance, and delicious food. Five of us ate lunch here and our total was $64 before tip, which is a bit pricey, but we didn’t leave hungry. They even have a dessert bar with brownies, banana pudding, apple cobbler, blueberry cobbler, and blue bell ice cream. Couple that with their awesome fried okra, and you have a winner.

The decorations are cool. It has its own unique vibe. There’s a ton of all you can eat soul food. The place is big, so it handles a huge crowd well. I really enjoyed the food and experience.

First time visit. Boy, that’s a lot of food. I had catfish and chicken, fried okra and coleslaw. No dessert as I was full. Mom had the same minus the okra. My only suggestion it to add portable pay machines and the waitress can accept payment at the table. It was a long line to payout. Great parking and friendly staff!
