EDITED REVIEW: The quality isn’t there anymore. Used to be great and a weekly Taco Tuesday for me and my wife. Not anymore. Really long wait. Bad service if you dare to dine in 20-30 min to get your food, 30 min to get the check, no water refills. They lost our phone order and we had to wait 45 min for 10 tacos. The hot sauce is either good or way too hot, different every week. The tacos are either half full or quarter full. I know they are a dollar but the quality just isn’t there anymore.

I went to Casa Chapala’s Grill on a Tuesday to check out their $1 tacos, and even as a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised! The veggie tacos were so flavorful and filling, while my friends raved about their shrimp and steak tacos. The place was super busy, which shows how popular Taco Tuesday is, but the service was still fast and friendly.
The ambiance is kind of a mix—it’s not exactly a fancy restaurant, more like a casual spot where you can either grab something quick or sit down for a meal. They even have a drive-thru, which is super convenient. When you dine in, they serve complimentary chips and salsa, and the salsas were delicious with a perfect spicy kick.
I also got the veggie burrito, and it was amazing! Packed with fresh veggies, beans, rice, and guac—it was super filling and flavorful. Definitely one of my favorites!
I’ll definitely be back, especially for those $1 tacos. If you’re looking for a quick, casual spot with great food, I highly recommend Casa Chapala’s Grill!

It s nice place in Wheeling to have tacos, I went on Tuesday, they call it taco Tuesday as every taco costs $1 only but this if you pay in cash , if you pay in card it s $1.29 , if you choose extra cheese extra 25 cents.for every additional item there s some extra cents .
I ordered 2 chicken and one steak, the chicken was super good but the tacos are so small (maybe 3 to feel okay not full) .
Clean tables, nice waitress and in general good experience.I recommend to try on Tuesday and pay with cash .

I am local and this is my GO TO for authentic Mexican cuisine, highly recommend the food and the service , for all the novices try the Tripa(tripe) tacos (ask for extra crispy) the Lengua(roasted tongue) this place will NOT disappoint you. I am here multiple time a week ❤️

I had the worst experience there on their menu of burrito. Dinner is $13. I just got charged $22 because the lady knew I did not speak Spanish. I know how to read. I have no problem paying any kind of money for food, but not when you’re charging me more than what the menu says terrible experience. I’ll never go back.

Probably the best Mexican Food in the area! Get anything with the Al Pastor! From tacos to tortas… I have had the chicken milenssa (I would skip) but I have had so many great entrees here that I will be back. They also have slots and liquor. DO NOTE: if you want to eat in, you will be seated with a Server… there is comp chips n salsa though

Taco Tuesday definitely draws in a crowd (no credit card on Tuesday BTW). They were good street taco style, I had the traditionally with cilantro and onion. Not sure if the tacos are downsized for Tuesday but not a great value. Guacamole had an unusual flavor, wasn’t sure where the flavor was coming from. Service was very good and patient with my first time visiting.

So I come to this place often and I just don’t understand how you have a bad intercom when you’re charging 4 dollars a taco. If you sell 400 tacos a day you have you’re at 1,600 dollars. Let’s say you sell the same amount of tacos in 6 days (because of taco Tuesday) you’re at $9,600. Once gain how can you not afford a better intercom?? At this point not having a better intercom is just by choice. I will refuse to come here bc of this. Please charge me 6 dollars a taco BUT with a better intercom.
