My husband and I were in the Portland area to celebrate multiple birthdays and a friend had suggested this lovely restaurant. We ordered the beef pad see ew and it was so flavorful and delicious. We also ordered the potsticker-like appetizer. The texture, flavor and colors were just perfect! The service was amazing as the staff were always checking on us and making sure that we were well taken care of! The ambiance was very relaxing with a low-key, easy going playlist and the beautiful artwork displayed on the walls. My husband and I will definitely stop by again next time we are in town!

We were there early in the dinner time period, food came out super fast and people were friendly.
However seasoning on both of our dishes was lacking, bland, and disappointing. Also, we wanted the curry “medium hot” and it wasn’t anywhere near that level – had to get hot condiment tray to augment. With all the other Thai places in the N PDX area with much better food, we’ll probably not be back here. We got the pineapple fried rice (mild/not hot) and peanut sauce curry (med-hot, wasn’t).

Bua of Siam is a small , corner located restaurant in downtown N. Portland. Parking was easy .
Walking in, I was pleasantly impressed by the bright , open, seating area. There are approximately 20 tables scattered around the dining area.
Service was prompt and very friendly. A definite high point for Bua of Siam.
Unfortunately, the food I ordered was not up to other Thai food I’ve enjoyed at other Thai restaurants. The tofu pineapple fried rice came out first. As it hit the table, I was surprised by the deep yellow color and the overpowering smell of curry. This was going to be a unique experience—- pineapple fried rice made with curry. Having traveled to Thailand extensively, I’m aware of regional preparations of food , varying greatly, although I’ve never had pineapple fried rice with curry. So, here we go…..let’s try this version of pineapple fried rice. Immediately after the first bite, I was overwhelmed by curry flavor. The fried rice was drenched in a yellow curry sauce that totally obliterated any of the subtle flavors of the fried rice. Very disappointing . A total waste .
The chicken pad se ew was marginally better ,with plenty of broccoli and carrots , but also unimpressive. Again , disappointing.
Handicap ♿️ doable.
The best words I can say on this review about Bua of Siam is that the service was superb.

If you’re in the area and want some yummy!! reasonably priced Thai food, Bua of Siam is the spot! It’s a cute little restaurant with lots of fun decor and trinkets that give it a cozy vibe.
I got the Khao Soi Chicken, and it was amazing. The broth was super creamy and the squeeze of lime added a nice citrusy kick that went really well with the coconut milk.I also had Thai iced tea pretty standard, but still good.

Overall, it’s a chill little place and definitely worth checking out if you’re craving some tasty Thai food!

This is a new restaurant in St. Johns, so we wanted to give itt a try. The facility is modern, clean, and bright. The wait team is friendly and attentive. Menu offerings are fairly the standard for a Thai restaurant. Both of our meals were delicious. I’m a curry girl, so I need to go back for the green curry. Tonight, I kept it low carb with the chicken Satay salad and some crab ragoons . Their peanut sauce is perfect!
Great atmosphere!

We were in town to celebrate two of our friends’ birthdays. We love Thai food and this place was suggested by one of the birthday people. I had the pumpkin curry, and my husband had the pineapple curry. Both were delicious. We try to support local and family owned businesses whenever we can, and this was a great friend. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and reasonable prices. This will be my go-to place wherever I am in the area.

Cute new place! We got Chicken Massaman Curry and Sizzling Beef. Both were good, nothing ground breaking, but should be a very good staple in the community (let’s keep this one please!!). The Thai iced tea and coconut shrimp were excellent. Next time we’re gunna grab some of the ice cream too!

This place is amazing. It is my go to for every take out dinner, although I like dining there as well. Fantastic curries, chef’s recommendations, always with a side of Tom Kha soup. I think it’s the best dining in St. John’s.

Food was not spiced and honestly a shame to Thai cooking. Crab Rangoon had about 3 molecules of filling in it. They put 1/4 ounce of sweet and sour sauce in the order. I could make 10x better Thai food for half the price and I’m Italian and have never cooked Thai before.
