Went for Valentine’s Day dinner, and it was lovely. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, staff was attentive and accommodating of dietary restrictions, and knowledgeable about the dishes served. It was very busy as it was Valentine’s, but the service never faltered. Portions were generous as well, I left feeling very satiated and looking forward to our next dinner here.

This is a classy, next level dining experience inside Newberg’s Allison Inn. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with the excellent service throughout our dinner. Our server was professional, friendly, and attentive. She helped explain the menu and checked in with us often. We decided not to have the full tasting menu and chose a la carte instead. We had Citrus Salads, my husband had the Wagyu Steak and I chose the Pork Belly dish. They were both fantastic dishes and the salad was a perfect blend of textures and flavors. Our server recommended two of the desserts: Sticky Toffee Pudding, and a Cheesecake with Mascarpone whipped in, topped with Honeycomb. We were already full, but ordered both thinking we’d have leftovers. We did not. It was just that fantastic. Everything we ordered was as delicious as it looked – creatively inspired plates, fresh and unique flavors, and with a touch of elegance in presentation. There were other quite memorable additions. The chef sent out a complimentary ‘amuse bouche’ with mushroom and herbs while we waited for our entrées. Also, the waitstaff kept our drinks and water full. Above and beyond. There was an atmosphere of professionalism and focused performance without condescension. Overall, we felt an authenticity in the staff’s desire to serve us well which is rare to find, especially in uniformity. We’re especially grateful for the experience as it was my 60th birthday and this made the occasion so much more memorable. We’re thoroughly looking forward to our next visit to Jory restaurant at the Allison Inn!

We did the seven course tasting menu which I recommend.
Value was very good…$300 including great wine pairings.
Service was excellent.
From the Amuse to the finale dessert the courses were unique and each stood out.
The wagyu was amazing but the sides served with it were exceptional in their own way.
Very well thought out and paced.
The wine paired with the Lettuce Wrap was PERFECT!
None of the courses missed.
Left just a bit stuffed but not ridiculous like some tastings…you can eat and drink it all and not leave uncomfortable or drunk.
We do a lot of tastings including some of the big names in NYC and this one is near the top.

Probably one of the few high end experiences in the entire Portland Metro area. If you’re looking for an absolutely wonderful day with incredible food, this place might be hard to beat.

I came in recently with a colleague and we dined in the bar/lounge. We shared a bottle of Italian white wine and also enjoyed dinner. Everything was wonderful. The food was very good. But the most wonderful part of our experience was interacting with the service team — Rolando, Brady, and Jordan! Each of these amazing folks contributed to a fabulous experience in their own way. Each was so attentive, engaging, and charming. Jordan even provided a “surprise and delight” moment, about which we’re still talking. He poured us a taste of one of his favorite Italian red wines on the list and shared some personal stories associated with it. It was delightful. He didn’t have to do that, but the wine left an impression on us and we’ll be sure to look for it the next time we’re in. Overall, this is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in quite a while in wine country. Thanks guys! Looking forward to coming back in.

We did the dinner tasting menu and had a great recommendation for a bottle of wine. Impressive wine selection, no doubt. The presentation of each dish was beautiful, though the flavors ranged from truly delicious to just okay. Service was friendly and attentive, with thoughtful touches like napkin refolding. That said, the pacing was quite slow, over three hours total, which made the overall experience feel longer than expected. A nearby large party added to the noise level, and while we understand that some evenings are more challenging than others, ours didn’t quite meet what we had anticipated from a restaurant of this caliber.

We’ve been going to JORY Restaurant for many years now, and it continues to be one of our favorite places to dine. It offers a fine dining experience with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We often stop in during the day in our regular work clothes and always feel completely comfortable.
Chef Josh’s in-house cured hams and bacon are standout favorites of ours, along with so many other incredible offerings on the menu. Whether we’re looking for a casual meal or planning a special date night, JORY never disappoints. We’re very lucky to have such an exceptional restaurant right here in our town.

Nice setting, good menu. I would go again. The food wasn’t as good as we anticipated. The servicer took out order and disappeared. Not that bad but we wanted to order another drink and needed water.

It was a beautiful setting from the moment you left the main road. Once you walk through the doors into the Jory you are greeted with kindness and thoughtfulness. Our meals were outstanding. Our service was perfect. The wait staff were right on time with everything. Not forgetting you are there but also, not coming to the table too often. We had a lovely walk afterwards around the beautiful property. The gardens were lovely and the sculptures were wonderful. I will definately be returning.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! The staff here offer a warm welcome and the food has a very well balance of texture, temperature and flavor. The pairing of the wine with the courses tells me they understand the pallet. We will definitely be back!
