Very disappointed with our visit. Upon entering, there was a strong unpleasant odor, which was already a bad sign.
The food was below average overall. Pupusas were mediocre, tamales were poor, and the caldo de gallina was not enjoyable. The beans tasted canned and the rice had an artificial chicken bouillon flavor.
Service was poor. The waitress was friendly at first, but after taking our order she disappeared. We were not given knives, only forks, and were unable to request hot sauce or any additional items. We had to get up to pay because no one came back to the table. The music was extremely loud and unpleasant, making conversation impossible.
Several of us also experienced stomach discomfort afterward. Overall, a very poor experience. Not recommended.

Antojitos Salvadoreños La Morenita Review
PROS:
Pupusas at 2.25 when review was written.
The pupusas have a nice texture and are overall good.
The chicharrón pupusas have a solid flavor, even if they could use more meat.
A good spot to try traditional pupusas like revueltas, which I’ve enjoyed before.
CONS:
The service was lacking, with the worker seeming more focused on tasks than customers.
The pickled vegetables were bland and could use more flavor.
The cheese in the pupusas is less authentic, making the flavor slightly less traditional.
The vibe was unwelcoming, with an old and outdated interior.
Loroco pupusas weren’t to my taste, but that’s a personal preference.
Recommendations:
Stick to the chicharrón, cheese, and revueltas pupusas, but bring your own bottled salsa if you want a spicier kick. Be prepared for a no-frills experience and manage expectations for service and ambiance.

Tried this place and I’m sure the locals love it. If you’re used to robust flavor this is not the place for you. The food was pretty bland but could be the culture. The staff was nice and it was clean. The prices were great and big bang for your bucks.

they charge you the tip for the waitress without even telling you. tips are not mandatory they are optional. the waitress also never checked on us to see if we needed anything she was too busy chatting with the men at the other tables. food was ok could definitely find a better place to eat with better food and service.

I am a bit puzzled as to why the kitchen staff here are wearing sandals. The waitress seems to appear only when it’s time to order, and then she is not seen again. When one requests the check, it appears to be overlooked. The food, unfortunately, lacks flavor. Please be aware that an automatic gratuity is added to the bill, and they also request an additional tip, regardless of whether you are dining alone.

I absolutely love this restaurant when I am craving authentic Salvadoran pupusas. The pupusa revueltas are great as well as just the simple jalapeno con queso. I normally call in my order for pickup to avoid waiting since the restaurant can get very busy at times. The staff is always very polite, and the pricing is great for the amount of food. Thank you La Morenita for the amazing food!

Great little hole in the wall place for El Salvadoran food. The tamales are hand crafted and steamed in a fresh corn husk. All the papusas are $2 except for the mixed which is $2.25. Mine were oozing cheese and had a nice crust of cheese around the edges..They come with skaw and a mild chili sauce. I was the only nom-Hispanic in there so I knew I was in the right place for El Salvadoran.

UPDATE: August 23, 2018- 4 stars.
Food quality and server attitudes have improved so much since my last review. My family has now turned me in to a regular. I would recommend this place for some Salvadoran food. It would be good to have marañon as a set drink on the menu though. To-go orders are good, rarely any mistakes.
