If you are expecting some upity “BBQ joint” this is not for you. But if you want some amazing food and just wonderful people, then this place is like coming home. Personable and friendly staff, checked on us and made sure we had all we needed and just casually made conversation to get to know us a little. The meat is perfection and the sauce is unique. I’ve been to Crosstown twice in the last few days because it is just THAT good!! The amazing service and friendliness just make the whole experience perfect. The food is amazing, and the staff sparked a friendly conversation which brightened my mood. They’re genuinely excited about the food they make and you can tell when they bring it to your table. It looks amazing, but it tastes even better. These folks are doing a perfect job at making sure you have a great time!

Walked up to an unassuming building with the smell of bbq inviting us to come inside. The staff were friendly and attentive, service was fast. We ordered ribs, pulled pork, and beef brisket to share with baked beans and potato salad. The meat was perfectly cooked and flavorful. At the end of our meal, we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner who told us they’ve been open for 55 years. What a legacy and something to be proud of. They obviously know what they’re doing and have bbq down to perfection. Can’t wait to go back again!

We found this little hidden gem. We are up here for soccer and we always look for mom and pop places. This one popped up and we was in. There is some road work but totally still get there. The staff was amazing keep drinks full. Food portions was big. Food was hot and had wonderful flavor . It is a family owned and great pics on the wall. If you need some BBQ definitely stop in. Several options on menu. Every meal we got was gone. The cat fish is also full of flavor. Thank you for wonderful evening and good conversation.

Update 11/2/23: went through the drive thru for some of those awesome fries. I was disappointed about multiple things. The place seemed deserted, it was about 2pm, I sat at the drive thru speaker quite some time. I did order and pulled around. There was no greeting just the price. The card reader was having issues and the last was not happy with it and I could hear her complaining even in the car. The window in the drive thru was broken and has been this way a long time. I did say I wanted regular BBQ sauce instead of ketchup and she did tell the cook. It took more time but they were hot. I asked the guy if there was BBQ sauce and he mumbled something. I asked again and again he mumbled. I opened the box to see if it was there and nope. Then he asked hot or regular. Regular. He got it and I left.
So the fries were hot but were chewy, like stale they were not the usual CrossTown fries. Leaving disappointed.
Great BBQ! Come and get it!
Hard to review today because all of Springfield seemed to be there to give them a boost. Crosstown is awesome but for a while it’s going to be crazy!

The chicken is fantastic, and lean. It’s as healthy as you’ll find BBQ chicken.
To answer some of these negative reviews.. The hot link most definitely is hot and spicy, it is shaped like a hot dog, and it’s been exactly the same for… a long time … at least 20 years. The sauce is made on site, and there are two varieties of it spicy and mild. It’s excellent- but it certainly doesn’t taste like bottled or chain sauce.
