The service was friendly and very accommodating for our party of about 10 ppl. They did have us a waiting awhile, but they were generous to give us a few bottles of Soju and a birthday cheesecake slice for our friend on the house. The food was worth the wait. The ambiance is very social. Small indoor space. Would recommend. Great flavor with my food.

In an area with limited options for Shabu-Shabu, discerning diners are faced with a distinct choice: an all-you-can-eat establishment or Meokja which positions itself as the higher-quality alternative. After a recent visit, it is clear this establishment largely delivers on its promise of quality.

The fundamentals of the Shabu-Shabu experience were well-executed. The vegetables provided were notably clean and fresh, offering a crisp and vibrant component to the meal. The soup base, while not exceptional, was perfectly acceptable and served as a pleasant foundation for the other ingredients.
The restaurant’s main draw, its premium meat selection, was best exemplified by the beef. The cuts were of a high quality, evident in the rich flavor and satisfying texture upon being cooked in the broth. This component alone makes a strong case for choosing this restaurant over its competitor. Also the drinks are pretty

So happy I found Meokja! When Mikoji in Riverside closed with no updates, we were seriously bummed, but honestly, this spot is just as good… if not better.

Their Korean fried chicken appetizers are AMAZING, perfectly crispy and full of flavor, and every single dipping sauce is delicious. I also really appreciate that they offer more variety, which is perfect when you have picky kids.

Safe to say… we can forget about Mikoji now Meokja has officially become our new go-to!

My family and I love coming here! Always hits the spot especially when I want to eat out but want a healthy option Meokja is the best choice. Our order is always sukiyaki and tonkatsu soup base with the meat lovers platter

We were taken care of so very well. It was the soft opening and they were very busy. We still got taken care of in a timely manner. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We were given a shot of sake and a delicious appetizer on the house. They were very thorough and detailed on showing us how to order so that we could have the best experience. The broth has to be the best I’ve had anywhere. We will definitely be back very soon!!!! Highly recommended

We’ve been here a couple of times and we absolutely love the food and customer service. I honestly can’t say enough about how amazing the server, Ashley, and the owner (didn’t get her name) were.

Our party was 3 adults and a child. We all ate plenty there and had plenty to take home. The prices are fair, they changed their pricing so that veggies and rice are unlimited. The Tonkansu and Tom Yum broth are my absolute favorite!

They currently have a promo of two free samosas per adult/meal and they are actually good.

This is our favorite shabu shabu and will continue to be back.

When I say it was an amazing experience it is short of a GREAT compliment. I’ve had Shabu Shabu before however my wife and daughter had never experienced this type of dish. Chef Priscilla was the best, not only did she greet us she took the time to explain each and every item on our beautiful plate and how long to let it cook and what sauces to use. The food was so delicious and the owner was so sweet she had us try one of her Soju drinks on the house! The service was great, all the employees including Ashley are on top of making sure you are well taken care of during your visit.

Tried this place for the first time and I wish I had looked online at the menu before trying it! Somewhat small interior but they had plenty of space to sit at tables, they have a pretty big bar space too. I didn’t know until we got there that there wasn’t an AYCE option and you pay for a set amount of whatever meat option you want. There was a small selection but the meat is good with a decent portion. I went with a small and order another medium option and it was plenty for me. They give you unlimited broth, veggies and rice with your meats and they also have a pretty good drink selection, especially the alcohol. It was pretty good, but I prefer AYCE options for hot pot, but our servers were very nice and super helpful!

We tried two different tasty and spicy (level 4) broths: Tom yum & another spicy one but forgot the name. Many little items included with the both which I like for their reasonable price, don’t forget to ask for rice. My husband loves this place because they serve alcohol lol. Will definitely come back to try different packages and broths.

High Google rating. Low quality food

We came here just because of the high Google rating, but honestly, it was a huge disappointment. We’re not coming back, and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

First off, they require each person to order their own hot pot, even if you don’t eat much. The cheapest pot starts at $69, not including drinks or service charge — way off from the $30–$50 per person estimate shown online.

We ordered the cheapest meat set and the seafood set, and the quality was no better than a low-end buffet:
• The meat was cheap frozen slices, all stuck together and hard to separate.
• The seafood was not fresh at all, had a strong fishy smell, like it had been sitting in the freezer for way too long.

In the end, we paid over $170 for two people — almost $85 each — and we still left hungry. And we’re just average eaters, not big appetites.

What’s worse? We were the only customers in the whole restaurant during our visit. The glowing reviews really don’t match the actual experience. This place is a textbook case of a misleading high rating.

Don’t fall for the hype. You’d get a much better deal (and much better food) at pretty much any all-you-can-eat hot pot place nearby.

Summary: Overpriced, overrated, and cheap ingredients. Not worth your time or money.
