I don’t think I could name another restaurant on the coast where you get binoculars and a burrito at the same table. We love coming for dinner and a show, there’s a lot of whales to see when the sky is clear. The service is great and the food always hits the spot.

Love this restaurant! Always good service, food is amazing, and the view is amazing. There isn’t any Mexican Restaurants around that deliver this quality of food / good service. The salsa in the beginning of the meal is mostly tomato juice, every mild! Don’t judge the place by there free salsa though. House made hot sauce is salid, food has is always been on point, full of flavor and awesome portions!

My family is a total of 5 people of which 3 are under 4 and one is only two months old. Going to restaurants can be difficult because they are kids and sometimes service reflects that. Not here. Fantastic service pith very friendly and understanding folks. Obviously the view is just beautiful and going during the week at mid day we didn’t fight for parking or seats. We noticed that there is a banner saying limit on quantity of chips so being large family we got worried. Was told that it’s usually 5 bowls then you pay. We decided to get the queso dip with chorizo anyways. Never ran out of chips and never got charged. Very fast and consistent keeping chips on the table. They include salsa and beans with cheese which is different than most places. Salsa is solid medium and delicious. Beans with cheese was different than most places because it’s not usually provided. Was simple refried beans but gave something different. I got the mole chicken enchiladas. Very delicious and will get again. The wife got octopus and shrimp dish which I don’t remember the name of. She said it was delicious and remarked how clean the food was. Most of the time the octopus or shrimp aren’t cleaned well and you either have uncleaned shrimp or sandy octopus. That wasn’t the case here. Kids shared a kids beef burrito and both ate it without complaints which is strong praise from these toddlers. It’s a little pricey but that’s just how things are now a days. It won’t be a regular stop because we do have many mouths to feed but every other time we are out here for sure. Highly recommend!

It was really great. 4.5 out of 5 stars for our family. We are pretty picky about our Mexican food. Everything was fabulous except a couple vegetables I don’t care for in my a la crema. The sauce was fabulous and the Camerones big and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed everything. And the Chile relleno being hand dipped is hard to find and delicious!

What a great little place in Depoe Bay to enjoy very yummy Mexican food. Also great views of the bay. Certain times of the year you can watch the whales going their blow spouts. Have eaten here in at least 5 different occasions when we come to stay the weekend at Trollers Lodge by local Fire Department. Last time we ate here I remarked to the owner that we enjoy our meals here more so than the Tidal Rave which is a very spendy $$$ place compared to the Mazatlan. The owner was our waiter & is very cordial and told about the history of the place. Very nice place, and most definitely always on our list of places to eat in Depoe Bay. P.S. – If you are vegetarian, look no further than this place. There are several vegetarian dishes. Yum yum all the way around. Definitely two thumbs up ! ! !

Drove down from Lincoln City to look for whales while we eat ( traditional stop every trip to the west coast). Unfortunately , we learned they are closed on Thursdays. I never thought to check that late in the week. Who knew? Now you do! Returned to their Lincoln City location, which was open & just as delicious. Highly recommend

If you’re cruising highway 101 going through Depot Bay and feel like eating Mexican food, stop at Mazatlan. The food is great and the customer service is excellent. The cherry on top is the binoculars each table get for whale watching . And yes! We did see whales today and it was awesome.

Favorite Mexican restaurant on the coast. The staff are amazing, so friendly and accommodating. I ordered a ‘skinny margarita’ and it was delicious. The view is beautiful, we spotted a few whales. The food was so fresh, homemade tortilla chips served warm. Everything was very tasty, served with a smile and a fantastic view.
