The server was quiet and, while not unfriendly, he did not make any small talk attempts or the usual offer to recommend some food from the menu & I can see why. The food all tastes the same. I got the Chicken Parmigiana sub with fries & a margherita pizza to share with my husband. I honestly could not taste a difference between the pizza or my sandwich because they were so bland. There was plenty of food but even the fries, which looked to be seasoned well, had no real flavor. A house dipping sauce for the fries, balsamic drizzle for the margherita or a better seasoned breading in the chicken parmigiana coating would have greatly improved the experience. Sadly don’t think I will return. Our food also managed to arrive before our sodas so not sure what happened there but I had to ask the server for them as they were the very first thing we ordered.

My wife and I went to Luca’s for dinner. We ordered the Tour of Italy and the Lasagna. We ate very little of our food. I can’t imagine the original owners would let their food taste so bad. The service was decent and the atmosphere was ok. Overall this is a big thumbs down and I recommend against eating there until they make some major changes.

Brought the family out tonight. Ordered 2 Chicken Carbonara entrees. Chicken was over cooked and both dishes were entirely different. One had a very creamy sauce and the other was dry with very little sauce. For the price I expect consistency and flavor. Definitely had neither. 3rd dish (Chicken parm.)was flooded with very acidic tomato sauce. Granddaughter couldn’t eat it. Chicken also was too tough. No salads or bread were given. Slow service! Very disappointed! This will be the last time my family and I will be supporting this establishment. With a family of 9 we have spent $200+ here every few months. Only excuse is we are under new management. Goodbye Lucas!!!

My Italian go-to “home away from home” in South Hill, VA. Fabulous local food with excellent service, quality Italian dishes, and wonderful hospitality. The house dressing is fabulous on the side salad and the fried mushrooms come with a zesty dip that’s perfect. Lemon chicken with capers is a top favorite (over angel hair pasta). Stop in and try them – you can’t go wrong on this menu.

This restaurant is right next to a gym. I kinda felt guilty walking out and just having to devour a bowl of pasta. I had the salmon bow tie pasta with the pink sauce. My waitress was super nice and kind. Everything seem pretty clean. The food was tasty. My bread was hard though. Over all I would come here.

We ordered 2 meatball parmigiana subs. It was a take out order and the 2 subs came to $25 plus taxes. I have had meatball subs from NY to FL and never had a sub like this. Usually a sub comes with 4 full meatballs, but these subs were 2 meatballs cut in half. The taste was about average but to charge that for 2 meatballs and some cheese was a bit much.

Oh. My. Gosh. Hands down, the best spaghetti and Italian food I have ever had. Ever. Everything was homemade. My husband said the same about the veal dish he got. You know it’s amazing when you barely even speak while eating except the “Ohhh’s” and “mmmm’s”!! Not only was their food freaking phenomenal, the service was a 10 of 10. I am a server/bartender myself so I tend to nit pick everything. Not here. From the greeting at the door, all the way thru.. way to go Lucas! You are doing EVERYTHING right. We will be back many, many times.

First I will note upon payment I noticed a $4 increase on my dish I ordered. Wouldn’t have made a stink if that was the only issue, I grabbed another menu with updated prices cus I know everything is going up. But to get home and open up to 4 regular sized raviolis, no bread or anything for $16 is insane. They were yummy but also barely warm.
I had to pay extra for a side salad, which they sent a cheaper incorrect salad. And to add insult to injury there was a hair right on top of the salad.
All I wanted was to have some nice Italian food for my birthday and instead I was left hungry and disappointed. I have ordered here many times and i called in and requested to speak to the manager instead of leaving this review. I heard them talking while I was waiting and he couldnt be bothered to take my call and had the young server take the call back. Claimed to be too busy when there were only a couple cars in the parking lot. I left my name and number, the issues with my order and he never bothered to reach back. The owner needs to get a lesson in Italian food and hospitality. They could care less about it so they’ve lost my business now.

Update: I visited again last night Dec 7 2025, again I ordered the calzone. This time however it was not finished. Literally cold in the middle and the cheese wasnt even melted still fully shredded in our face. I asked the young lady to send it back and specifically asked that it not be put in the microwave.. … well that’s EXACTLY what they did. So not only was it undercooked the 1st time. It was a ball of doughy mess the second time. When I asked her why she would bring it back to me knowing they put it in the microwave she seemed upset with me. She never returned to the table. I asked to speak with the manager because I wasnt going to pay for something that came out the microwave and another server came and told us the manager wasnt even there. We asked for the bill for the fried zucchini we ordered and ate and she said no bill we tipped $5 and left. Unfortunately I wont be returning because of this. I drove 18 miles each way to come here and was serve slop….

Great service… absolutely delish calzones. Tastes just like NYC… they could be bigger but were well worth the price and made with quality ingredients. Def will be returning to try more.

Pizza was better then okay, but less then the best I have had. What gets Lucas’s 5 stars is their servers and their attitude and energy.
They need to clean the place up and add upgrades. They have two bars and one of them has trash around it and literally a trash can sitting on top of it.
Again, great service helped this place get 5 stars versus 2. I hope the owners pay attention to upgrading the decor and the batbrooms.
