This was my second visit, and I will definitely be coming back again. The food is delicious, the service is fast, and the prices are very reasonable.
The Highlights:
• Turnip Cake (Radish Cake): Absolutely delicious! The exterior is perfectly crispy while the inside remains soft.
• Salty Soy Milk: Very authentic with a nice curdled tofu texture. It pairs beautifully with the crispy Youtiao (fried dough stick).
• Green Onion Scallion Bun (Hua Juan): Fantastic texture. The outside is slightly crisp, and the inner layers are soft and fluffy.
• Rice Ball (Fan Tuan): Highly recommended. It has a true, authentic taste of Taiwan.
• Egg Crepe (Dan Bing): Excellent on its own, though it felt a bit heavy when paired with the fried dough stick.
The Drinks:
• Winter Melon Tea: Decent and refreshing.
• Soy Milk: It’s clear and easy to drink, though I personally prefer a thicker, richer consistency (like homemade). That said, it’s still a solid choice.
Overall, it’s a wonderful spot for a satisfying breakfast. I look forward to my next visit!

The story of the Four Sea Restaurant founder is quite the adventure, from cooking for her family in China to moving to Taiwan then California, the food is authentic and comfort. They have a huge variety of classic Chinese and Taiwanese breakfast items at a fair price. There is plenty of indoor seating and the staff are friendly. Only complaint is that the food can come out a bit slow though.

This is your very typical no frills Taiwanese breakfast experience and you can be it’s authentic. We generally order the cold sweet soy milk, the pan fried turnip cake and the salty rice roll whenever we come and it always hits the spot. The pan fried turnip cake is crispy on the outside as it should be, which many places don’t get correct. The salty rice roll has a crispy (not soggy!) fried Chinese donut on the inside with some pork floss and it’s so good! Lastly, you have to get the soy milk for the meal.
This place has become a staple in our breakfast spot rotation and we’ll always be back!

Tried a bunch of their breakfast items — some were great, some just okay. The congee and braised egg were super tasty and comforting, and I loved the peanut soy milk even though it was a bit sweet. The sticky rice ball and youtiao were too hard for my taste, but the egg pancake and buns were really good. Overall, a nice place for a traditional Chinese breakfast, just wish the texture of some items was softer.

Solid Taiwan breakfast fare. I love coming here for salty soybean milk (though I wish they put more goodies inside), mantou, scallion pancakes, egg pancakes, radish cakes, rice rolls wth pork floss, and a variety of Taiwanese buns.
The food quality doesn’t come close to what you can get in Taiwan (obviously), but it certainly hits the spot when in the US.
Service can be a bit slow sometimes, and maybe a bit gruff. The restaurant atmosphere is also very basic – like a cafeteria lacking in personality.

Some of this dishes I had like the Taro and radish cakes for average but if you’re the type of person to like taro and radish cakes you could enjoy them. Ironically I really liked the sandwiches here which use some sort of sesame bun and added to the flavor. Though the food was decent, would I like most about this restaurant was learning of its story on one of the walls–which overall made the experience much more enjoyable!

I was excited to have a Taiwanese breakfast, something we can’t get in Bakersfield, but I was disappointed. We arrived around 10 am, and after ordering at the counter, we waited over 35 minutes to get our first items, a steamed bun and the salty soy pudding (鹹豆花). The soy pudding was barely even room temperature – I would have expected it to be hot, as it is at most other places. That was very disappointing. I waited another 10 minutes to finally get the vegetarian rice roll (鹹飯糰), which thankfully came out hot, but I don’t know why it took 45 minutes for that to be ready. I also ordered a hojicha soy milk, which didn’t really have much of a hojicha flavor. All in all, I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the food and the very slow service.

Longing for experience some taiwanese/chinese breakfast itens, we went to this recommended (by friends) place.
The disappointing feeling started to show up as the food we ordered took more than 40 minutes to come to our table (few places available). The service was chaotic, and the ambience sufferable. The food was ok, but overpriced.
If you have little tme to spend in LA, don´t waste your time, unless you miss terribly taiwanese/chinese breakfast, and would die for it.

Friendly staff. We ordered assorted items and they missed an egg crepe. We didn’t notice until we drove away. They gladly made our crepe and had it ready at the counter. There’s a touchscreen ordering kiosk to the corner, very easy to use. Service was quick. We went in with at least 10 people waiting in line and more waiting for their orders in the dining area. We still got our takeout order in a reasonable time. Cost is to the higher end but food quality is good. Small price to pay when you’re missing some traditional Taiwanese breakfast.

It never fails to satisfy my craving for a good Chinese breakfast when I visit this restaurant! A must-try for dine-in or take-out. In my experience, the staff was very friendly and I received excellent service.
