The best coffee I have ever tasted. Truly exceptional. The pistachio ice cream is also outstanding, and I say this as someone who has tried a lot of pistachio ice cream in many places. This one is definitely the leader of my personal ranking. Highly recommended. ☕
What I love most is the clarity of flavor: you taste the bean, the terroir, and the craftsmanship. It’s not overly sweet, but nuanced — with subtle notes of caramel, toasted nuts, and cream that unfold as you savor it slowly. This is milk chocolate with soul.
At Plaq, you can sense the dedication to bean-to-bar purity, transparency, and quality. Their milk chocolate is not just a treat, it’s an experience that reminds you how extraordinary something simple can be when made with passion and respect for the ingredients.
In a city that knows its sweets, Plaq’s milk chocolate truly stands out — luxurious, thoughtful, and unforgettable.
Considering the reviews, I expected a lot more in every way.
Beside the fact that the small cup is ridiculously small and costs 6 euros, the flavor was completely off.
It did have a really nice consistency and thickness, and a nice silky texture, wasn’t too sweet either, which was nice.
But the flavor was somehow gritty, too bitter and with an unpleasant aftertaste.
On top of that, the lady working there was not very pleasant and passing inappropriate comments with a colleague in front of costumers.
Pity, they specialize in chocolates, I was expecting a way better cup of chocolat chaud
You can choose a hot chocolate with water or with cow milk, but not plant milk. It comes in two sizes : small (6.5 €) or medium (9 €). If you are American, imagine size XS and S.
It tasted different than the other hot chocolates I had already tried. It has more cocoa flavor than chocolate flavor. I liked it, but be warned it is not your ordinary chocolate taste. The beverage was neither too dense nor too strong. If you have ever tried the other famous hot chocolate in Paris, you know what I mean.
I like Plaq’s concept of having a complete overview and control, from bean selection, harvesting to production. But I wish this full control could allow them to lower their prices. I understand the shop is located in a pricey neighbourhood, but I feel the actual prices make a visit to Plaq an experience reserved for cocoa connoisseurs who can truly appreciate what they are paying for.
I don’t regret my visit, but I don’t think I will come back soon as there are other chocolate places more to my liking.
