My best friend and I stopped in for some coffee and ended up enjoying the absolute best breakfast burritos ever & got to chat with some of the locals to get ideas on some good hikes. Brainards lake is a must! Food was so good we stopped by the next day for some delicious Italians. Amazing environment! Definitely adding this place to the list of places we must visit everytime we’re in Colorado!

The small municipality of Ward is a historic 1860 Gold Rush gem at 9450 ft – a step back in time, known for its quirky, rural character on the Peak to Peak highway. Ward Mountain Exchange is a MUST stop. Shaz, the owner, operator is delightful and quite talented in coffee and cuisine. He’s a true people person too and made our two hour visit feel like minutes! An Americano made with a special request to “make it strong” was done to perfection. The breakfast burrito was uniquely fantastic with all organic ingredients. Flavorful! We also thoroughly enjoyed speaking with the locals – specifically Damian (a champion and embracing his true pirate, renaissance self). They shared personal history and we were thoroughly enjoyed our time with them. Go meet them! The dogs are awesome too. See their handcrafted felt hats for sale, the unique artifacts on the wall.

Stopped here on our motorcycle ride for lunch. By far the best and most finely curated sandwiches and hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Will be making another trip down the next chance I get!

Been here last Summer of 2023. Went here after our trek in Lake Brainard. Our host suggested us to stop by to have a glance of old west feel. I like the ambiance and feel, unfortunately, we’re still full and just grabbed our choice of beverage before hitting the road again.
Awesome place!

Came here for lunch with the family and we ordered almost the entire menu. Everything tastes so good and is made with the best ingredients. The organic tomatoes my kids loved. Great coffee and sandwiches. Also got the French toast skillet and it was great. If you are in the area at all make a point to come check it out. We’ll make this a family tradition destination going forward. Thank you Shaz!

Shaz is an awesome guy. My friends got the tuna and Italian sandwiches and some chia lattes, I got an espresso ☕️. Everything was top notch. His meats are locally sourced with no harmful nitrates or seed oils. Honestly it was great and Shaz’s story is super cool too. Great little place to stop at if passing through the town of ward. I recommend it 10/10. Don’t forget to ask about his healing machine!

Ward Mountain Exchange is THE BEST breakfast burrito and French toast I have ever had, no exaggeration. The owner was known as “The French Toast Kid” growing up and takes his title very seriously. And boy, he does not disappoint! Served in a hot skillet, the sugar and syrup caramelize on the bottom and then melt in your mouth. The breakfast burrito were made with a hearty serving of perfectly cooked bacon, fresh pico and greens, and the tortilla came seasoned. *Chefs Kiss* Perfect!
Thanks guys!

I got the lunch burrito, and my brother got the veggie (ginormous).. so refreshing, he told us it’s all organic and I believe it. The quality was so fresh, the guy cares about what he’s making for sure. Nice lil hidden gem worth grabbing a bite.
My brothers veggie sandwich was the most fresh selection of veggies I’ve seen on a sandwich in a while!
