1st visit to Ringoes NJ and breakfast was on the menu. I ordered the greek omelette and my daughter ordered an egg white omelette with peppers, onions and sausage, cheddar cheese. The bread came in a basket. A carafe of coffee came with breakfast, which was hot, strong and superb. The side order of bacon was crisp and dry, not greasy. The food was delicious and the drive was worth it. Definitely would recommend Amwell Valley and will go back.

The diner has daily specials that are affordable. Delicious choices each day. There was a new waitress that was learning the job. She was very kind, patient and helpful. Food was great. Diner was clean.

We stopped in on a rainy evening for dinner around 6:45. The place wasn’t busy but they have a decent number of booths, counter seats, and several tables. I ordered the meatloaf, which was the advertised Wednesday special, though I’m not sure if it was any different than the regular menu item. It came with one side and a soup or salad, and I got the latter with mashed potatoes and gravy over the meat and potatoes. The salad was good, fresh, with romaine, tomato wedges, and sliced cucumber. While they didn’t have Italian dressing, the balsamic was fine. I thought the meatloaf was alright, with a good flavor and soft but springy texture that held together without crumbling. The gravy was much too salty for my taste, with the occasional crunch of undissolved salt crystals, so I should have probably just asked for it on the side. The potatoes tasted like reconstituted powdered spuds, perhaps a bit bland, but were fine with a bit of the gravy. We had a slice of the lemon meringue pie for dessert. It had a gratuitous amount of fluffy meringue on top and a sliver of lemon curd that was satisfyingly sweet and tart without being overly indulgent, atop a homemade shortening pie crust. Overall, the food was average but prices reasonable, service was attentive, and the food came out quickly, making our pit stop a brief one that met our needs.

Wound up here by mistake. We were supposed to meet some people at another restaurant. After following GPS forever, we realized we were given the wrong address. Saw this place on the side of the road and just pulled in.
It’s a mid-level old fashioned Jersey diner. Nothing fancy nothing modern.

Have some respect for these great people. If you’re gonna stop at least get something to eat. Enjoy some home made food especially the cheese cake it’s the old man’s recipe and it’s delightful. I’ve been going here for almost fifteen years and they’re amazing people.

Everything was delicious. The service was great. If you’re not hungry for dessert after your meal, get a slice of the coffee crumble cake to go!
