Terribly unprofessional environment I fear. Woman in front of the counter seemed to be a guest just chatting with employees. Then one employees behind the counter whispered ‘I can help you’ and the other woman stepped aside then stepped behind the counter (turns out she was an employee just chillin) She proceeded to chat with the girl checking me out who was very distracted. There was a lot of side talk going on with the other third worker (not mentioned yet) who was confused about who ordered an Italian. Another woman at the counter kept saying she didn’t order an Italian. Again very confusing and unprofessional. The woman who I thought wasn’t a worker grabbed a bag of chips and started snacking behind the counter. As I was staring at her, baffled and confused, I realized I didn’t give enough money to the cashier who was just staring at me. We made eye contact for a very awkward 5 seconds before she asked ‘you got 4 more cents?’ And I had to ask her to repeat the price because she whispered it to me the first time.
ALL OF THIS for pretty mediocre food. Which was expected. But there seems to be some issues with employees at this specific location. Wasn’t always like this.
Bright side, the restaurant was pretty clean.

9/2024 4* Food was good. It was a bit slow the 2 times I was there in 3 days. The cashier was not rude just not friendly at all. So it could have been better. Maybe next time I am in Springfield. We will see.

Today… I attempted to order at the drive thru, but was told they wouldn’t accept my order and that I needed to order online or come inside. I’m almost 70 years old and prefer not have to use a phone or computer to order food. I decided to stop inside where they took my order…. and when paying shown where to leave a tip before my food was prepared?????? They also had four tip jars. If you can’t take my order at the drive thru….I wont be back.

Very disappointed in this establishment. Placed my order then husband gave his order. His food was brought out. 10 minutes later I was still waiting on mine. I looked at the receipt & my order wasn’t on there! So I went back up to the same employee & told her & she said “oh I guess I didn’t enter yours” I have to eat gluten free. I asked if the chicken tortilla soup was GF, nobody could answer. One person said go online & look it up…. ? REALLY??? I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. When it came out it was on bread. I have never gotten one on bread before it’s always came on a bun. They told me it’s always been bread. After they swore to me it was GF I ate it, not the best sandwich though. Looked at my receipt & they charge 1.89 extra for GF bread. So does anyone else think it’s cool to charge extra because you have an allergy & can’t eat wheat? Never going back there…ever. I have never been charged in any other McAlister’s for the GF bread /bun.

This has happened multiple times now, so I am now writing a review. Employees are always arguing or being extremely loud and cursing. A simple soup and potato took 30 minutes just for me to get home and see that they got my order incorrect. Just a very unprofessional environment and bad experience in general. Probably won’t be coming back.

So…where to start…short staffed…only one at the counter on a Saturday during dinner time. Waited to order…waited 20min on food and had to go to the counter to pick up. Waited at counter for someone to acknowledge I was waiting on my food that was dying at the pass. Food was cold,small portions of chicken salad and the nacho cheese seemed to be from days ago. Restrooms were disgusting and my feet stuck to the floor when exiting. Very unfortunate as this used to be a quality business. Lastly, look out for the upcharges…even our lemonade had an upcharge which was again upcharged due to it being strawberry.

Food was fresh and delicious!
Prices are are a little high for portion size but on par with most places of this variety.
Nice atmosphere with tables and roomy booths.
We will likely return in the future.

Disappointing experience.

I paid 73.70 to sit in the parking lot for roughly an hour to receive cold and sweaty food. It took 3 different people asking me the name on my order before I finally got micro sized chicken fingers and ice cold soup! If it had not been for that last girl that bought me my food I have would made a broadway musical type scene in there.
