I usually find brunch a bit challenging to get excited about (I tend to be more wowed by lunch & dinner), but the quality and execution here were spot-on. I was particularly surprised by the crispy sticky rice (which I wouldn’t have even tried if my friend hadn’t ordered it). It was fantastic – the texture, sauce, and pickled cauliflower were all excellent, even though I’m not usually a fan of that vegetable.
Lastly, the service was outstanding. The servers were attentive, and when there was a minor mistake, they apologized profusely (including the manager). Everyone was incredibly accommodating and friendly.
While I’m not generally a huge brunch person, I would definitely recommend Society Cafe to friends and would happily take guests there.
We started with a pitcher of mimosas, which was the perfect way to kick things off. For food, we had the olive oil pancakes and the steak and eggs—both were fairly delicious! The pancakes were light, flavorful, and had just the right touch of richness, while the steak was well-cooked and paired perfectly with the eggs.
Overall, a great spot for brunch with friends! Would definitely come back to try more from the menu.
Price: $70 pp w/ tax & tip (total of 2x)
I don’t go to hotel restaurants enough. But this place is so beautiful! Items ordered:
– Espresso martini: 7/5 sooo good
– Latte: 5/5 solid; make sure you ask for sugar when you get served! I went on a Saturday and after a moment, we lost track of our server. Couldn’t get it until the latte was cold.
– Brisket Burger: 4/5 pretty good. Fries were delicious. The sauce in the burger is great for the fries.
– Shakshuka Egg 5/5: my friend got this and said it was delicious
The staff was really friendly when we were able to signal to them. It took a bit of time to get the check but it was still a lovely place. Def recommend for a cute date spot!
We had the “Olive Oil Pancakes” and the “Market Omelette”. Both are good options, they were very good. The “Latte” was also good, I am not gourmet but I like a good cup of coffee.
Service was great and the place is cozy and nicely decorated.
We had a Valentine’s Day reservation for one of their special pre-fixes, which we selected and paid for in advance. We arrived a few minutes early just in case, but had to stand awkwardly by the host stand/entrance for almost 10 minutes before anyone welcomed or greeted us. No words on when the table would be ready, no coat check or seating offered. At this point, it’s 15 minutes past the seating time we booked, and we’re still standing awkwardly at the entrance while waitstaff dodges around us and almost runs us down.
Finally, a little less than 20 minutes past our reservation time, we get seated. The host sets down a menu for the pre-fix, begins telling us about it, and then immediately snatches the menu back with a comment about how we “didn’t pay for this one, just the other one.” The mistake was understandable, but the phrasing and the way it was handled was inappropriate and embarassing.
Finally, finally, we have a table and the right menu, and we put our drinks in. Our waiter is very attentive and sweet, so that helps, but at this point I’m thoroughly unimpressed.
The cocktails were very light on the alcohol, but still inventive and delicious, and the amuse arrived promptly alongside them. The appetizers were honestly the highlight of the night, especially the octopus carpaccio. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented.
Unfortunately, the main course was underwhelming. The lamb was good, but ultimately pretty fatty and not otherwise remarkable enough to make up for it. It was also listed as stuffed lamb loin, and did not appear to be stuffed whatsoever.
I will also note that we had to wait much too long between courses. There was a solid 45 minute gap between appetizers and entrees, and another large gap between entrees and desserts. At this point, it’s been literally three hours since we walked in and we’re both over it. We got our desserts boxed to go.
I do want to give credit where credit is due for good cocktails and an outstanding appetizer course, but it just wasn’t enough to make up for the way the night started, or for the disappointing main course. I’d like to think that this unfortunate experience was due to the chaos of Valentine’s Day, but after such poor service I don’t know if I’ll be giving Society Cafe another try.
During the brunch itself the waiting staff were excellent. Food was delicious, and the service timely. Thank you .
I can only recommend this venue.
I went here to celebrate a birthday. Most attendees were vegetarian, and we had plenty of options. Highly recommend the pizza! The cocktails were absolutely delicious, and the wine selection was great as well. We were able to share mostly everything.
The live music was a huge hit. The artist was taking requests and was extremely talented!
The tables were very well distanced, and even dining indoors I felt very safe. The entire staff kept their masks on and it was very clean.
