We took our birthday group to Coa earlier this week and it was such a great move!! We were there just in time to join the trivia night. The questions were challenging & entertaining! I placed an order for pickup and waited 20-30 minutes, since it was taking a while I called to check to see if it would be ready soon. They seemed like they weren’t aware of the order and didn’t start making it until we called. When I arrived to pickup the order I had to wait another 20 minutes. When I got the food, one of the burritos beef was burnt so bad that it was inedible. The beef was just charred and crispy. I ended up throwing it away.

Checked out this bar after hangin out at pride and the cat cafe next door! J.p. , Javi , and Chris were all so so nice ! We spent at least 4 hours here chatting and shooting shit. Was a good time!!!!!

Their guacamole is terrible & is definitely not the mix of ingredients listed on the menu. The list of tequilas on their menu does not reflect what’s available. We did have some yummy vegan chorizo tacos though. This was my second visit and it’s only getting worse. The chips that came with the guacamole were salty, oily, & hot. They were more pleasant to eat than the guacamole that tasted like it was straight out of a bag.

Saw the bouncer reach across the bar and beat up one of the bartenders in front of customers last Saturday for what seemed like no reason.
That bouncer still works there(I think his name is Jason). Not sure if he’s still there because he’s buddies with the owner or if the owner was in on it. Regardless, definitely a bad look for Coa.
Either way, don’t spend your money here. If that’s how they treat employees in front of customers and on camera, who knows what happens behind closed doors. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect at work, and no one should have to worry about their safety while on the job.

The margaritas are awful. My blackberry margarita tasted like dimetapp with a splash of mcgillicuddy’s. The normal margarita didnt taste good either.

I came here with my partner after seeing photos online, I love Mexican candy and the Tamarindo straws in the margs were very exciting. The margaritas were disappointing, i had a mango and my partner had the mango strawberry swirl. Overall there wasn’t much flavor in them and they were strong but watery. The food was also not great, the carnitas looked like ground beef in the egg rolls and tacos and the elote bowls were lacking flavor. I did really appreciate that there were vegan options and the vegan chorizo taco was good. It seemed like the tube of vegan chorizo you can buy at Hy-Vee without much done to it. The house salsa was the best thing we had. It was slightly over salty but otherwise good!

I’m excited to go back to this place! Grace was a great server. I asked for something smoky, and she suggested the Mezcal Margarita. I asked for taco suggestions, and she suggested the chicken and carnitas. They were fire! I was really impressed with the vegetarian chorizo taco too! My only suggestion would be to perfect the chips. They were slightly overcooked and could use more salt, but they weren’t bad. I also don’t remember if there was a fish or shrimp taco option, but I hope there is. Altogether, I’m happy I stopped here and will be back tonight for a friend’s birthday. Thank you for a great experience Grace!
