Hands down the best Mexican place in Grinnell, my favorite restaurant in Grinnell PERIOD. I’m from a place with a lot of Mexican immigrants and delicious Mexican food, and this restaurant exceeded my expectations by FAR. the burritos, fajitas, tacos, appetizers, horchata, flan—everything I’ve had has been delicious. So so flavorful, fresh, and big portions. All of the employees are so so sweet, the food comes out fast even on busy days, and its a beautiful space.

Love it here! I live in Toledo but anytime we are traveling along 80 we make it a point to hit the area at a meal time so we can stop here. Amazing atmosphere, good food and my family of 5 ate lunch for $50 with tip because of their great lunch specials.

Food was very above the average Mexican restaurant. I had the lunch ground beef burrito special, which was much like I would make for myself at home. My wife had chili rellenos and said they were very good. Service was a little slow, but it was lunch time and they were busy. We were just passing through Grinnell and looking for somewhere to have lunch and their parking lot was full, so figured it was the place to be.

I’ve been going here over the other Mexican restaurants around Grinnell for a couple years now. Absolute best fajitas in town! I get the chicken and steak combo and they’re actually chunks of meat and not what seems like scraps of meat unlike another spot in town I won’t name. Everything else(veggies, condiments etc) always seems fresh and top tier in comparison to their competitors as well. Price is very fair for what you get just be sure to ask for extra tortillas and they’ll happily accommodate!

*Edited below*Amazing service. Awesome food. And the churro’s were to die for.
Gonna edit. It’s been a few months since my initial review. This has become our go to place. The servers are attentive, but not pushy. They remember us everytime we come in. They remember what the kids eat and drink.

My tacos were great, but my wife found her fajita to be exceptionally greasy. Her napkin looked like she had changed the oil in her car. The atmosphere was colorful, with the many sunflower paintings.

For the mid west, Los Girasoles Is a very good Mexican restaurant. A co worker kept bragging about this place and brought me here, at first I was like who serves refried beans with chips, to make a long story short we ordered another bowl of refried beans, lol. He had the molé and I had the sunrise enchiladas, any kind of food with sunny side eggs on top (I’m sold) has to be amazing and yes they were. Will definitely be back. Thanks

We dined here for a chamber luncheon meeting today. The large space for our 15-person group was nicely secluded from the busy area of the restaurant. Our beef and chicken fajitas were delicious and especially flavorful. And most of all, their birthday treat for my good friend was over the top great! A fried chip for all in our party, the traditional happy birthday sing-along song, topped off with an authentic Sombrero! Great food and great job, Los Girasoles!
