Social Profile:

Famed for its passion, generosity, and deeply rooted traditions, Italian cuisine inspires and entices food lovers like no other. Located in Pokolbin in the heart of the Hunter Valley, éRemo is a celebration of Italian cuisine, with the chef’s contemporary flair bringing the menu into the pantheon of modern day Australian culinary classics. éRemo is the embodiment of cultural depth and character, and the dining experience is reminiscent of a long luxurious meal enjoyed at a close relative’s home in the abundant European countryside. The approach is genuine and heartfelt: the Avido menu takes its name from the Italian word for ‘greedy,’ a clear signal that dishes served are fulsome, rewarding, and no one leaves here hungry.

The Italian food was fresh and delicious, with an excellent kids’ menu that was equally enjoyable. The restaurant offers a peaceful, elegant atmosphere, and the staff provide warm, attentive service with genuine smiles. The pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Hunter Valley who is looking for a quality Italian dining experience. Ēremo.

Out of all the high rated restaurants we’ve visited in Hunter Valley, Eremo was by far the best.
Every dish was unique in flavor and reasonably priced. The service was excellent, too.
The only downside was that the indoor seating had no winery view and the birthday option didn’t include any special service.

I give them 2 star for the service. The portions – atrocious. I am a petite person and I was still hungry after the meal. We ordered zucchini flowers, potatoes, striploin and vongole pasta. The pasta was entree size for $38!. Albeit food was tasty the portion sizing left a bad note and one I will forever remember. The dessert we had were also nothing special, like the strawberry semifreddo which was basically home made frozen ice cream with fresh strawberry slices and puff pastry, the other was limoncello tiramisu. I would not eat here again nor do I have the heart to reccomend it. It’s overpriced and there are way many nicer restaurants in the Hunter to try like Baueme and Hunters Quarters. What a huge disappointment. I do commend our wait staff Candy. She handled my feedback to the management/chef well. I hope they take it on board and do better.

I’m genuinely surprised this restaurant has a 4.5-star rating. The service was inconsistent, with some staff attentive while others made us feel completely forgotten. The starters were okay but lacked flavour, and the focaccia (which should be a staple in an Italian restaurant) arrived cold and stodgy.

The mains were absolutely terrible and not worth the wait at all. When we raised our concerns, the manager didn’t come over or offer any assistance. We spoke with the supervisor instead and were given a generic excuse about a ‘new seafood supplier’. It was the exact same excuse we’d already heard being given to the table next to us, except theirs was apparently a ‘new meat supplier’. This wasn’t a supplier issue, it was 100% a kitchen issue. The food was poorly cooked, poorly executed, and there was no real apology either. We even asked if there was a new chef, but were told there wasn’t.

We were initially offered a discount, but it still included charging us for the two mains we didn’t touch, so we had to escalate further. Again, no sign of the manager, apart from walking past us without acknowledging the situation or offering support.

The only positive was Kaz, who genuinely tried her best to turn things around and help us. The rest of the team could learn a lot from her.

Also, pretty sure their Instagram uses stock images, not their actual food.

An absolute must if you’re in hunter valley. Wow ! Food and service both absolutely exceptional. Complimentary olives, Starters – scallops and zucchini flowers, mains – beetroot risotto, cream gnocchi and side of carrots, dessert – choc fondant. Honestly could not fault any of it. Best meal I’ve had in a while. Service went above and beyond, providing excellent wine knowledge, super attentive waitstaff and even bringing us bug spray and blankets so we could stay outside. Thanks to all the staff there for a lovely experience x

The food was disappointingly bland. None of the dishes were properly seasoned, which was surprising given the excellent quality of the proteins. The chef could have elevated the experience by incorporating more flavour, for instance, the yellow fin tuna would have liked a bit more acidic vinaigrette along with the capers, or an emulsified butter-based sauce would have complemented the seared fish beautifully. Similarly, a well-seasoned steak would have eliminated the need for the lacklustre chimichurri, which only made things worse.

That said, the restaurant redeemed itself with its desserts, which were exceptional and provided a sweet ending to an otherwise underwhelming meal.

Firstly, I just want to say that Brendon was absolutely amazing, as were all of the staff!

The service was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special. Our water and wine glasses were never empty, which is something that’s so rare to find these days.

The food was incredible, from the olives we were greeted with on arrival, to the beautiful gnocchi, and finally the steak cooked and salted to absolute perfection. Everything was flawless from start to finish, and I honestly couldn’t fault a thing.

Highly recommend

Stumbled across this restaurant during our stay in the Hunter Valley and wow, are we glad we did. Venue, food, wine and service were all top notch. Vaughan, our waitperson looked after us and explained all the options we had to choose from. My husband had the spaghetti with prawns and I enjoyed the market fish with mussels and pearl couscous with a side of the carrots. Highly recommend anyone to book and enjoy at least one meal here. Only wish we’d had more time to go back.
