My wife and i came here for dinner. We started off with a blooming onion for an appetizer and our main course was the pork chops that we shared. Our server was very attentive and polite. Our meal was delicious and very filling. We don’t visit here often, but when we do, it’s always a special treat.

It was 1st time coming here. We got seated right away for a party of 10. My whole family and I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Allison our waiter was a very friendly. Justin the manager stopped by to see if we needed anything. We will definitely go back again.

So first off for a Saturday night there was no wait. I order a watermelon margarita and I have to say Tommy from the bar made one of the best margaritas I have ever had. Allison our waitress was awesome very friendly, and nice. I have been going to outback in mesquite for over 30 years and I have to say this one in forney has beat them hands down on my first vist. The food was so good 8 oz sirloin was very delicious cooked just the way I love it. I will be back to this one. Mesquite outback you just lost me to forney. Sorry.

Our waiter was awesome. Younger guy with dark hair and some facial hair, Liam I believe. He said he was fairly new and was extremely personable and attentive. The blooming onion was extremely greasy (pictured). I know it is deep fried, been going to Outback since they opened in Tampa in 1988, but it was excessively so. We barely ate any and it was taken off our bill. We all ordered steak and all three baked potato toppings wrong. Liam had them correct on his order tablet so not his fault. When food runner brought out our meals, one of my daughters and I had our plates set in front of us. My other daughter was furthest away from the gal who brought the plates and handed the third plate to her and it was VERY hot! She had to practically drop it onto the table as it was burning her hands. We all ordered our steaks medium (warm pink center) and two came out borderline medium/medium rare but we were okay with that. The other steak was very much medium rare borderline rare and bloody.
Since we have been eating at Outback Steakhouse’s many times, in several states, in the 37 years they have been around we have seen the evolution of the restaurant. There have been a lot of family gatherings and celebrations over the years so it remains in the lineup to occasionally visit, but more and more there is disappointment in the food. My house salad was easily half very hard white lettuce pieces that are not ideally the edible part of the lettuce head with a very large hard core included (pictured). The biggest issue by far is that for a steakhouse they invariably, on every single visit, get at least one steak’s doneness wrong. When it’s in your name and it the primary thing on your menu you should get it right. The manager, Justin, who came over and took my daughter’s very rare steak to cook it longer had a lukewarm attitude at best. With tip our bill totaled over $100 for the three of us. The best part of the experience was Liam. He is an asset to the Forney location.

Came for dinner tonight and Tommy was amazing, told my mother in law recently had surgery he made some outstanding recommendations to have the food cook for her. That’s going that extra mile, he didn’t make us feel like we were taking too long to order and was very understanding. We’ve been here a few times before with our BIG family and his been our server then too and I have to say the food comes out exactly on point!! Plus a big shout out to staff in the back that also contribute to our amazing experience.

The portion sizes are terrible for the price. Ordered the 6 and 8 once Filet and Toowoomba shrimp to go and there was maybe a tablespoon of that with and it looked NOTHING like the picture. I also didn’t notice much difference between the 6 and 8 ounce filets but one is definitely more expensive. I was told by the takeout person that they give 1 loaf of bread for every 5 entrees, which sounded very odd but she ended up adding another loaf as I told her that the order was for 2 people and one ended up being stale and hard which seemed almost intentional. Overall I am disappointed as the amount paid doesn’t reflect the food quality and portion size.

Keith was an outstanding server! He was friendly, attentive, and made sure our whole experience was great from start to finish. He checked on us at the perfect times, kept our drinks refilled, and made excellent menu recommendations. His positive attitude and professionalism really stood out. We ordered takeout dinner today. The order was supposed to be the chook sammie chicken sandwich with aussie fries and baked potato, and blooming shrimp. We got salmon instead of the chicken sandwich, probably due to the bad phone connection or the lady that took our order couldn’t hear well or speak clearly. We don’t eat salmon! The blooming shrimp was so soggy and salty that it could not be eaten. So disappointed in the meal. We had heard from a friend how good the food and service was at Outback. Maybe they ate at different location. Awful experience.

Wife and I went in today, and Justin attended us, and he was fantastic! Food was awesome, service was top notch, and the manager was coming around to check on everyone! Sorry, I forgot his name! But he, the staff, everyone in the kitchen, definitely made my wife and I’s time there a memorable one!
