This is a restaurant for people who love food; and I mean that in a really great way! The menu is never the same. The head chef creates a new and unique menu every day based on what is fresh, local, and looks good. I have yet to go here and find the same thing twice. The best part is that because of this ever changing menu, the head chef continues to fuel his creativity from which there are dishes bursting with amazing and refined flavor and texture combinations that will blow your mind!

On my most recent trip I had a corn cake with smoked salmon and creme fraiche, a pork loin over pesto risotto, and a deconstructed peach cobbler with homemade ice cream.

The sweetness of the corn mixed with the smokiness of the salmon and the tartness of the creme fraiche keeps the pallet guessing. And the crisp corn cake was perfectly balanced with the creaminess of the creme fraiche.

The pork was seasoned and seared to a perfect medium rare. It was amazingly tender and had just the right amount of crust to balance the creamy risotto. And when eaten in one bite with the spinach there were flavor bombs all over the place.

The cobbler highlighted the beauty of the fresh, local peach. Everything enhanced the flavor of the peach, not distracted away from it.

You could really see the chefs style and personality come across on the plate. I would say that this is in my top 5 favorite places to eat anywhere! Not to mention it is incredibly well priced for the quality and uniqueness that you get every time. YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE!

This is one of the best restaurants on Long Island. The food is gourmet and the staff is top notch. Also, bring your own wine policy is a money saver. We’ve been going here for years and the quality is very consistent. There’s something for everyone, but If you like fish the chef is the best at preparing a perfect fillet. Reservations recommended.

Tasty food and I really enjoyed the prix fixe option. Plus it is BYOB! The server was nice and I thought the cozy size was a nice departure from many restaurants that I have been to in the US. I think that they need to pay a little more attention to the place’s upkeep. Old decor and some visible dirt was surprising considering the food quality. Also, the table arrangement seems to be awkward for the servers and customers to navigate. There’s quite a bit of bumping into chairs when coming and going.

Possibly the best meal we have had on Long Island yet. Each course was wonderful, the service was the perfect combination of attentive and personal. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic. The food was superb. THe house cocktails were creative and refreshing and the BYOB option was nice. Cash or Personal Check only.

It was a truly delicious meal. A little pricey but everything came to the table hot and looking fabulous. It’s a VERY small place so seating is limited. And reservations are recommended. Bring your own bottle-NO UNCORKING FEE! You won’t be disappointed.

We’ve been enjoying Kitchen since it’s Saint James days. The setting is elegant and the food exceptional. Service is solid. They have a wine list, or you can bring your own for no corkage.

Long Islands best kept secret. Can’t be beat for absolutely amazing food in a humble setting (which is part of it’s charm). BYOB and ever-changing chalkboard menu (also part of it’s charm). The chefs continue to out perform themselves. Very friendly staff and patrons who feel like part of a secret club. UPDATE 4/2011: I’m saddened that KaB has lost it’s edge. The larger location has effected the quality. Very sad. No need to go back.
