TD’s is your classic college bar, through and through. As someone without any nostalgic ties to the place, I walked in as an outsider and it definitely feels like a spot that means more if you’ve made memories there. The different levels are a unique detail though.
That said, the food pleasantly surprised me. The wings had great flavor, though they were a bit dry and needed extra sauce. The wraps were also unexpectedly tasty, but were also begging for a little more dressing to really shine.
Weirdly enough, the floor was practically Velcro under my shoes. Wear boots or shoes with laces. There isn’t much parking either so lace up and start walking. My biggest issues was the much-hyped unlimited wing deal doesn’t kick in until later in the day: a detail missing from the menu. Our waitress wouldn’t budge, which was frustrating since it was the main reason I chose the place.
Bottom line: Probably not where you take visiting family, but if you’re rolling in with friends, it’s a solid move.
First, I want to recognize our waitress, Kayden, who was fantastic — attentive, kind, and professional. She did her job beautifully and is the only reason this review isn’t directed at the entire staff.
However, the rest of the experience was awful.
The restaurant apparently had a private event scheduled, but this was not communicated to us in any clear or respectful way. When my daughter arrived to meet us, multiple staff members physically formed a line blocking the entrance. I personally witnessed this. I had to leave my table and remove my daughter from the situation myself while staff members were cursing at her. No parent should have to deal with that.
Things escalated even further when it was time to leave.
When staff said they needed the table, I immediately agreed, paid the bill, and told them we just needed to use the restroom before heading out. They said that was fine. My 14-year-old son went to the restroom, and while we were waiting for him to come back, a male staff member began yelling at me to leave immediately, using profanity and speaking to me in a completely disrespectful manner.
I asked what he expected me to do — leave without my minor child still inside the building? He responded by cursing at me again.
As an adult visiting my kids at college, I have never been treated so aggressively by restaurant staff. The hostility, lack of professionalism, and complete disregard for basic courtesy — especially toward a family with children — was astonishing.
Kayden was wonderful, but the behavior of the other staff members was intimidating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. If this is how private events are handled, I would strongly caution anyone considering dining here during transition times.
We will not be returning.
This lively student dive bar delivers high energy and a perfect pre-game vibe. The wings were a standout, packed with flavor and cooked just right. The sandwiches were delicious too, hearty and great for a casual lunch. My wife and I shared a pitcher of “The Tiger” (orange vodka, Sprite, and orange juice), a fun, citrusy drink that was a hit with our table and new friends we made among Clemson students and alumni – such a great community feel!
That said, the dive bar atmosphere – loud, crowded, and unpolished – might not suit everyone, though it’s part of the charm if you’re here for the game-day hype. Service was solid but a bit stretched during the busy lunch rush. If you’re looking for tasty bar food and the heart of Clemson’s pre-game excitement, TD’s is the place to be. Go Tigers!
Their nuclear sauce isn’t as hot as you’d might expect; if you have a decent heat tolerance don’t expect nuclear to be truly “nuclear”, however it does taste delicious.
Always have great deals over the summer and weekday nights. Definitely worth stopping by to grab a solid deal on wings and beer. Available for catering events as well with pool tables and a great bar area.
You really have to stop in and sign your name, every inch of the place is written on with names and monikers. Was lucky to get photos like this the place is normally packed with people and the hub of activities. University is just around the corner and I mean the corner lol. Thanks for sharing your local flavor. Food was great as where the drinks and the people where even better. Y’all stay safe, have fun and see ya soon.
