Elevated seasonal Italian cuisine with handmade pastas, tasting menus & wine pairing in a cozy room.

One of my favorite dining experiences in Seattle. Food is phenomenal – unique and elevated take on Italian dishes. Had a mussel dish that I’ll remember for a long time. I love how small and intimate the restaurant is; also a huge fan of seeing the chefs behind the counter prepping dishes. We also did the drink pairing and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend this spot for a date night/special occasion.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was flawless, the atmosphere was calm and upscale, and every course was incredible. The chefs even let me try fresh Italian truffles, which was a crazy good surprise and showed how much pride they put into their food.
Altura delivers a true fine-dining experience from start to finish.
Easy 5 stars. Highly recommend.

I had my birthday here and I was sooo pleased entry surprised by very bit of it. The unique menu, the surprise of it, every dish being out of this world, the service, owner/ chef who brought out my birthday dessert and said goodbye when he left for the night. 5 star restaurant, food, service. I couldn’t recommend more!

I visited for the Christmas Eve tasting menu. The food itself was exceptional; the restaurant offers a unique take on Italian cuisine with a touch of PNW influence. Every dish was prepared with precision, showcasing variety of flavor, texture, and temperature.
However, the experience felt a bit disjointed due to the service. While the staffs were friendly, I would have appreciated more detailed explanations of the dishes to truly elevate the dining experience.
Additionally, the pacing was quite slow—there were non-trivial waits between courses. While understandable given the kitchen size, it’s something to be aware of.
If you’re looking for a “fine” dining experience, this may not be the spot, but the culinary execution is certainly high-quality.

Michelin tier fare. Simply Phenomenal.
The attention to detail and degree of execution was incredible! The smoked mussels were a standout in an otherwise flawless tasting menu.
We prefer this menu to many Michelin tasting menus, which can over complicate and confuse. Altura is the familiar, elevated to the aspirational.
The ambiance is unassuming; uniquely, you can see the kitchen from your seat. The pace isn’t wild or frantic, but methodical and careful – it’s like they execute to this degree without effort – truly a treat to observe.
Overall, a favorite for our party. We plan to return when we are next in Seattle.
Thanks for a great experience, your excellent service, and giving us a great story to share.

This is Seattle’s best restaurant. The food, the service and the experience were exceptional. We sat the chefs counter. It was a delight watching everyone as they are masters in their craft. Every bite was perfect and intentional. My favorite aspect of the meal was the Non Alcoholic Beverage Pairing. I cannot express how much I loved this. Thomas is a genius. I’ve never had anything quite like it and I would come back to Altura just for this alone. The NA drinks are not “virgin” drinks of what we already know, they are delightful blends of nostalgia and something new. Thaddeus was impressive to watch throughout the meal preparation. He was lovely to chat with as we ended our meal. All in all it felt like we were welcomed to observe and take place in an artistic moment and I really appreciate that.

This was truly one of the best dining experiences we have had in Seattle. The expertise and care the team brings to the table is an inspiration. Every course was delicious and we left feeling very well fed. The non-alcoholic beverage pairing deserves a special mention for being inventive and beautifully executed. It is a must try for anyone interested in new ideas within the NA space.

World class food, plating and service — I’ve been to many tasting menus and Michelin starred places, and the food, plating and service here is ‘up there’ with the best of them. That being said it’s a wonderful cozy and intimate atmosphere. It’s world class fare and service but laid back and cozy. Very Seattle, and very Capitol Hill!

I was excited to visit Altura, and it did not disappoint. They don’t try to be pretentious with their decor or atmosphere; instead, it’s a relaxed space where you can enjoy exquisite cuisine. Every dish was fresh and absolutely delicious. Watching the chefs prepare the food added to the overall experience, making it even more enjoyable. The chef truly created art, crafting unique flavors that go beyond the usual combinations of ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Exquisite tasting menu, unique flavors, beautiful presentations, and generous amount of food. The environment is comfortable and the staff are so friendly and accommodating of food restrictions. Would recommend sitting at the chef’s counter to watch the magic. One of the best meals in Seattle! Would definitely go back.
