Great place for a casual dinner or date night…the food is amazing, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is pleasant. One drawback is the overall restaurant space is tiny making the environment seem super tight, especially when dining at the sushi bar. Our waiter and the sushi chefs were very friendly and polite.
The quality of the food is top notch. We will definitely return again.

Hidden gem in Snowmass — don’t trust the low stars

Honestly I’m confused why this place has such low ratings, because the sushi here was really good.

I have pretty high standards when it comes to sushi (I eat it often and I’m picky about freshness and quality), and everything we ordered was impressive. The uni was incredibly fresh and creamy with that clean ocean flavor (no weird aftertaste at all), and the o-toro was unreal — buttery, rich, and melted instantly.

The rest of the rolls and nigiri were also on point. Great fish quality, good rice texture, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Service was solid and the overall vibe was exactly what you’d want after a day on the mountain.

If you’re in Snowmass and craving sushi, don’t overthink it — this place is absolutely worth it.

Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Colorado. They really care about the ingredients and it is very fresh from sushi to seared tuna to miso soup. We loved it so much. Our server was amazing and helpful. We will definitely be back!!!

Food is beautifully prepared and plated, a real treat to eat. For the sushi lover, the menu is on point with seasonal options and the expected availabilities. Service was friendly but a bit rushed, though it was a busy night. Staff is happy to answer questions. Trust the menu and server recommendations and you’ll leave a happy customer. Great to have this location in Snowmass Village!

We had a great experience with my friends’ birthday celebration. The food was delicious . Favorites were the Wagyu Tataki , shrimp hanabi and chicken lollipops. All the rolls were very good too . We loved the cocktails , I would say go for the Hibiskiss .

Kudos to the staffs and the chefs. They did an amazing job .

P.S: Don’t forget to finish it off with their delicious desserts

So disappointing. The decor is the highlight of the experience with booths arranged and partitioned to give a sense of privacy and intimacy.

The sushi is just poorly executed. It’s the sushi equivalent of if you have a high schooler a master’s vision and paintbrush – they’d still paint with inadequate techniques to get the job done. The flavors should work, the fish is good, but was destroyed by clumsy work at the sushi bar.

The trademark roll, the Blake was destroyed by being doused by the sushi chef in soy which made it completely soaked and so salty as to be difficult to eat. Any roll with sauce was just soaked by a heavy hand, unbalancing flavor and texture. At a corner shop run by a local family, this might be acceptable. At a resort restaurant charging $200 for a dinner for two, the bar is higher. And this food didn’t even get in the same league as what the price would imply.

I took my wife here on our first getaway date in years, and this was an abysmal night. I say night because the wait staff is understaffed and despite knowing and ordering what we wanted quickly, it was more than an hour and a half before we were done. Our waitress was kind and did exactly what was needed but seemed to be covering everywhere inside and out, constantly moving.

I could not honestly recommend this location. It was a disappointment despite hearing such great things about the Aspen location.

The best Japanese food I’ve ever had! In the mountains, there are not that many restaurants to choose from that are Japanese, but this was easily one of the best meals I had while traveling. The restaurant is in a small village community called Snowmass; the area is mostly residential buildings compared to Aspen or Vail, which have much more attractions. The food was made perfectly and placed well as well. The Wagyu Tataki was absolutely delicious and beautiful. Sushi was the best we ever had as well, with favorites like Dynamo, Austin, and Blake. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone of all ages and tastes.

10/10

Stopped by for a quick drink while I was waiting to pick up our to-go order. We’ve noticed that Kenichi always looks full every night, so we wanted to try the food out. The sushi did not disappoint, neither did the service while I was waiting to pick up!
