It was so hard to find good dry pot places in my area . Finally , I found hungry monster!! One of the best meals I’ve had recently. The quality of the food was outstanding and the service was top-notch. The staff made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this place!

My friend and I – both longtime lovers of Asian cuisine – were originally headed to another spot for lunch, but it was closed for a break until 5 PM. Hungry Monster was nearby, so we decided to give it a try – and we’re so glad we did!
Though the restaurant is small, it’s incredibly cozy and comfortable, with a mix of four-person tables and bar-style seating with stools. When we arrived, there were only a couple of teenagers sipping smoothies, so we practically had the place to ourselves. That meant we got the full attention of our wonderful waiter, Biscuit, who was very attentive and made us feel well cared for from start to finish.
We both ordered their signature dish package – I chose the soup-based seafood package, and my friend ordered the beef version. Each dish came served in a small cauldron, full of different ingredients and rich flavor. The portions were generous, so I ended up taking half of mine home. As a nice touch, they packed my leftovers in a high-quality branded bag with the restaurant’s name, which I really appreciated.
We ended our meal with drinks – mine was a refreshing grapefruit and lemon green tea, and my friend had a Mango Tea Yakult, which was fruity, creamy, and perfectly balanced.
The ambiance added to the experience. The decor combines traditional Asian elements with anime-style art, even on the bathroom door! It was fun, vibrant, and gave the place a unique personality. Pleasant background music played throughout the meal – it was noticeable enough to enhance the atmosphere but soft enough not to interfere with conversation.
Some practical notes:
• They offer delivery, and you can get a 10% discount on takeout if you pay in cash.
• They’re open every day.
• The only downside is parking – limited spots in front of the restaurant and no obvious public parking nearby. You can risk parking in the nearby plaza, but there are tow warnings posted. Thankfully, we didn’t have any trouble.
All in all, we had a wonderful lunch at Hungry Monster. The food was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the whole experience felt welcoming and personal. We’ve been to many Asian restaurants before, and this one stood out in the best way.

This place is amazing!!! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The skewers improved a lot since the last time I went here. The skewers are very large and quite juicy. The fried pumpkin pastries taste awesome and not too sweet. They recommended me the bullfrog stir fry, although quite pricey at about $30, it is definitely worth it, the serving is very plentiful and the frog legs have a lot of meat. Additionally, the atmosphere is very cozy and nice. Highly recommend you to visit this restaurant.

The food was good, but the experience at the end completely ruined it.
I came here today with my son. When we finished paying, the suggested 15% tip on the receipt was a little over $5. I didn’t have exact change, and the cash I had on hand was about $4.70 in small bills and coins. Since it was close enough and I didn’t want to ask the server to break more bills just for a few cents, I simply left all the change I had on the table as the tip.
As we were walking out, the server stopped us and told me that the tip was less than 15% and asked me to add more before leaving. I was honestly shocked. I have lived in the United States for many years and this is the first time a server has stopped me to demand that I meet a specific tip percentage — especially over such a small difference.
To be honest, if I truly felt the service wasn’t worth tipping, I could have left nothing at all, although I know that would not be considered appropriate. That’s exactly why I still left the change I had. But insisting that a customer must meet a strict 15% amount feels unreasonable and a bit absurd.
In the end, I reluctantly gave him a full bill just so he could have his exact 15%. Unfortunately, the service during the meal had already felt quite cold and unfriendly. I said “thank you” each time food was brought to the table, but the response was minimal.
It’s unfortunate, because the food itself was good. But being stopped over a few cents of tip left a very negative impression.

I was craving dry hot pot and I was so glad that I didn’t have to go all the way out to Flushing for it. They have many options to choose from and you can customize your meal however you like. The service was quick and easy. The storefront isn’t huge but there was still a good number of tables if you choose to dine in. The dry hot pot definitely hit the spot. There was a good amount of spice and a variety of everything I asked for. You’d probably get more in Flushing for the price they charge, but I still enjoyed the meal and not having to be in the Flushing crowd.

This is a new place around the plaza so I decided to give it a try. The interior of this place is so cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Portion sizes were massive, the leftovers will supply me for my next meal haha. My partner and I got a soup pot and a dry pot, mildly spicy but we love spicy dishes. As appetizers we got some skewers and popcorn. I cannot complain about the food at all, the taste was spot on. Definitely give this place go if you’re venturing to try something new! Highly recommend!

Anyways, I loved this place. I went with Yeerunner, the person who also reviewed this place. The staff are amazing, and the food is just delicious. You have got to come here, they just opened and need more customers. For the price, you get so much delicious meat and I want to go back again and enjoy the food.
